“Staying in Southold for the July 4th weekend w/ my family and my old land cruiser’s transmission began slipping to the point it stopped shifting. A&C was the only place open in the area, called them and told me to bring it in early afternoon. Had AAA tow me there. Got there by 1:30pm. They replaced the transmission line which was leaking, refilled my fluid, test drove it to ensure that fixed it and nothing was wrong with the transmission. And they had me back on the road by 3:45pm on a Saturday. The cost to fix it was also super reasonable. And now I had a way to actually get my family home off the island!”

“Brought my 98 Explorer into Gallagher Automotive with a horrific battery drain. They diagnosed it and attributed it to a faulty aftermarket alarm which they recommend be removed. It took a day to do the removal and for a great price I have my truck back. Mutual friends of mine have used Gallagher Automotive and these guys are their go to when repairs to vehicles are needed. 5 stars!! Great experience!”

Our family - including our five-year-old - was driving and felt a flat tire. We stopped at the closest gas station to check and they recommended Southold Auto Repair. Don checked all our tires, fixed the flat, checked the oil, and provided us with new valve caps for a reasonable price. “THE BEST CAR MECHANICS EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HONEST, HONEST HONEST! But that's NOT ALL! Highly competent about ALL types of cars foreign and domestic/old and new, VERY competitively priced, and extremely reliable! Rich and John service our newer cars and our older Buick. The Buick has had minor things start to go due to age, and we have gotten a quote to fix these things. In these circumstances, the guys have said "we can do the fix, but in my opinion it's not worth the cost, the car is fine and will keep running great as is". What mechanic in this day and age says that? NO ONE ever in my experience except Rich and John!!!!! In addition, we have had them review cars we are considering buying before purchase, and they have NEVER lead us in the wrong direction. I will NEVER have any car looked or serviced by any other company besides Peconic Automotive and John and Rich!”
