Communication with the owner for check in/out, parking details etc. was pleasant, easy and efficient. They were kind enough to offer a complimentary upgrade when the Inn was not full - much appreciated!Facility is very clean including guestrooms & bathrooms. Overall, well appointed with TV's, charging ports etc. Comfortable beds.Coffee bar was well stocked - even had real cream.Nothing they can do about the trains, but they were loud passing by - especially at 5:45AM on a Saturday morning.

Great little Inn right in the town of Pawling. Its my second time staying at Station Inn and it was just as great as the first time. You are able to choose the room that bests suits you, the rooms are updated and very clean. I highly recommend Station Inn Pawling!

The Station Inn offers outstanding accommodations and service. The owner, Susan and the Manager, Emma go above and beyond to ensure an excellent experience. This is a must for those traveling through Pawling!

Enjoyable little town with several excellent food options. The accommodations were comfortable and very clean. We stayed in the Morning Light apartment which only has one bathroom in the primary bedroom. The shower curtain made for tight space but hot water was abundant. Likewise, the apartment has plenty of closet space and could benefit from a full size ironing board and additional mirror. The main living area spacious but could be rearranged for better functionality since the wall mounted fireplace was behind entry door.Rooms: Clean and comfortable bed with USB power built into lighting for phone/tablet charging. Door to bathroom does not open fully due to bed obstructing. Mirror needed in main living area along with full-size ironing board.Noteworthy details: Keep in mind it is the "Station Inn" so be prepared for regular train traffic with loud horn several times per day and night.

I’m a professional hair and makeup artist; I stayed here because I did hair and makeup for a beautiful wedding in Pine Plains. I only stayed in the room for less than 12 hours but the bed was comfortable and everything was very clean. The only things that I would’ve loved to have was a table to eat my dinner at (instead of seated on the bed) and a bigger bathroom counter (so I had somewhere to wash and dry my makeup brushes). The bathroom counter was non-existent. Other than that the water pressure was good, and I didn’t feel the need to wear socks or my hotel slippers in the room. Hotel carpets make my skin crawl but not here!! I was also able to part right in front of the hotel for free.

We’ve always dreamed of visiting the Appalachian Trail, but we wanted to get a taste of what it’s like before we plan anything big, so we found Pawling on a map and headed up after five days in New York City. The Station Inn and Pawling was the perfect getaway from the bright lights and our stay really helped to top off the trip of a lifetime. As a first time visitor to the USA, I’m so pleased we made the decision to stay here. The Inn was immaculate, check-in was smooth with the keypad, and the location is stunning. If you want a taste of what life would be like living in a small town in America, this would be it. The sense of community was so strong, and after meeting Susan by chance at the property, she gave us some great tips on where to eat and explore. We bumped into Susan and her husband in the local Irish pub, O’Connor’s on our second night and they were more than happy to chat to us for a while. We absolutely loved our stay and Pawling has stolen a place in our hearts.Nick and HayleyRooms: Spotless! A comfy bed, fresh towels daily, bath robes to relax in and refreshments available outside our room. We had a queen room at the front of the inn, and although we could hear the trains at night, it didn’t bother us, as they became infrequent at night.Nearby activities: The Appalachian Trail and other local trails and beauty spots are easy to access, including Cats Rocks and Nuclear Lake. There are other small towns nearby with other amenities too, but unfortunately we could only stay two nights, so had to choose our adventures wisely. We’d highly recommend having a meal at McKinney and Doyle’s, grabbing some drinks and good conversation with the locals and staff at O’Connor’s (shoutout to Ali for topping up my pint after a little spillage!). We had breakfast at Sunflour Bakery and the Dancing Bear, they were great! It’s well worth dropping into the information centre too, we met a lovely volunteer who even offered to drop us off at the trail head, but with the weather being so nice, we politely declined and ran up the road for a few miles.Safety: Key code check-in made things really easy. The town feels very safe, everyone was welcoming and intrigued to hear two English accents! We felt part of the community straight away.Walkability: The location is footsteps from the train station making it so easy to access by train. It’s a small town in a large landscape, but only around two miles from the Appalachian Trail, so perfect for two trail runners to reach. Shops, bars/cafes and restaurants all within just a few minutes walking distance.

My sister and I are thru hiking the AT southbound and absolutely loved staying here. We often reminisce on it as our favorite stay thus far. It was a great location in town. And we really loved the bathrobes. We stayed on the second floor and had no trouble checking in! The email we received with instructions was perfect. Definitely want to return here for a separate trip.

Staying at Station Inn felt like a hybrid hotel and Airbnb experience. It was not the best of both world because we paid hotel prices but got the minimum level of service we’ve come to expect from an Airbnb. No front desk, just a passcode to let you in building and then your room. The rooms were very clean and neat, but ours was an absolute shoe box. We stayed over Labor Day Weekend, but the hotel still felt VERY expensive. Bed was incredibly comfortable, but barely any room to walk around. They did provide coffee on the second floor, but you had to walk out of the room into a small common hallway. A train line passes right out from of the building so you will probably need to use the earplugs they supply in the room! It’s a good location, with lots of shops right around the corner. Again, rooms were very clean and up to date.Rooms: Clean, tidy and up to date, but incredibly small and felt very expensive.Walkability: 10/10 walkability score for downtown Paulding.Food & drinks: The hotel didn’t offer any amenities on the second floor (left door) but there are many food and drink places within a two minute walk of the hotel.Noteworthy details: A train line is right outside the building. You will 100% hear this throughout the day and into the night. Our last train passed at 11:30pm.

We had a great stay on the first floor. The veranda was a wonderful addition. It was so clean and bright. The fresh flowers and cookies were a wonderful touch. We’ll definitely stay again. Great addition to Pawling Susan.

Well. We had a lovely room in the third floor walk-up. It is a spacious, spotless remodeled attic on the third floor. We only found the great space after we had waited on the porch for 30+ minutes because the hotel door lock are enigmatic. This is a ghost hotel. There is no check in. Access to the rooms require deciphering a front door lock which is difficult. While we lingered on the front porch getting progressively frustrated with the 30+ minute call back after our long car trip, two very helpful young ladies aided us in front door passage. They also allowed that they also had difficulty with the door locks. The location is excellent in the middle of Pawling with easy restaurant access. The front porch is also about 40 yards from the train tracks. In the evening there were 5-6 trains alerting with their whistle to their passage. In the morning the timely 5:58 AM train alerted us to our 6:00 AM alarm. Other than the lock puzzle, third floor walk-up with ghost hotel and timely train thunder, the room was excellent with abundant coffee on the second floor. Even if one is allergic the fresh flowers are beautiful.Rooms: Spotless good space remodeled atticNearby activities: In the center of PawlingWalkability: Right in the middle of Pawling. Trains thunder 40 yards from the front porch.Food & drinks: Restaurants abound

The furnishings are great. Nice bedding, artwork on the walls, very clean, large flat screen TV. Very modern. I had some problems initially with the locks, but the management came very quickly and helped me. I'm also disabled. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this for more disabled people because there are a few steps to get to the front door. There's a refrigerator, water dispenser, and coffee maker in the hallway for convenience.

If you like living in a fascist/authoritarian world... This hotel is for you! They will ask you for your papers/proof of medical rape before they let you stay in their Brownshirt hotel.
