Lisa is the best! If you don’t use this bank you are wrong.

Gina is an excellent resource at the Pawling branch. She has tools like 0% credit cards and HELOC lonas to help clients fund new projects or large purchases.

Being a local business owner for many years, I can not speak highly enough about how fantastic M & T bank in Pawling has been for us. I now have all my personal and business accounts with M & T. Gina, the branch manager, is amazingly attentive. I've gotten nothing but solid advice and great rates. If you're a business owner especially, M & T is a no brainer.

A storm apparently took down the AMERICAN FLAG. It was left laying on the ground instead of being picked up by bank employees. Later i saw two men arrive in white vans and they picked it up and took proper care of it. As soon as it was seen by any bank employee it should have been picked up folded properly. Respect our country and our flag. This bank apparently doesn't.

I was eager to open an account here but after my unpleasant experience I decided not to. Upon entering, I had a question and was assisted immediately by a teller who was very helpful. She handed my account questions over to the customer service/sales representative who was not as helpful or accommodating. This person was very condescending. She told me that the only way to open a checking account was if I had direct deposit through an employer. I told her that I don't have an employer. She gave me a look that I can't really articulate well--maybe a condescending, judgmental look that can't be described. I can't believe I told her that I didn't have direct deposit and thought that was really none of her business. She asked if I was employed? I thought to myself what did having direct deposit and being employed have to do with opening a checking account? I asked her about that too and she didn't really give me a response. She was still looking at her checking account chart; she didn't let me look at the chart to see which one I would want to choose( she had more than 1 chart.) I had to ask for the checking account chart. My perception was that she was being very judgmental and didn't want me to open an account there or was just really unfamiliar with the information. I declined and left abruptly. I felt like she was prejudice. Please note direct deposit was not the only way to open up a type of checking account. There must have been at least 2 or 3 ways to open one for each type of checking account. She assumed that I couldn't do the other 2 or 3 ways for the account that I was looking for. Don't recommend opening accounts here.
