At no cost the team at Dutchess had me come in right away so they could look at my concerns. They confirmed that the part should be replaced so they ordered the part and scheduled the oil change and work.The day of my service I also brought up another issue that turned out to be the main serpentine belt and idler tension pulley. They had the parts in stock and added that to my work order.At the end of the day I had a quiet and dependable vehicle to drive that was repaired quickly and at a very fair price.I highly recommend starting a relationship with Dutchess Auto Body. “Over the years, I’ve heard extremely negative things about Mavis—not this location particularly, but as a whole. I was in a bind this past weekend and needed an auto shop that could quickly fix my car and send me on my way. Given that Mavis in Pawling is about 10 minutes down the road from me, I decided to give them a shot.I arrived a few minutes before 8AM without an appointment and was able to quickly check in at the service desk. The woman behind the counter was friendly and was helpful when I told her the budget I had in mind.Unfortunately since I didn’t have an appointment, it took about a half an hour for my car to be taken into the shop. Another hour later the mechanic came out and recommended what services I would need. He accommodated my budget and not once did I feel like I was trying to be upsold.I was able to ask for updates while I waited and the waiting area was large enough where I could read without being interrupted. I also appreciated the phone chargers that were available as I spent the better half of 3 hours waiting for my car to be finished.On a slightly negative note, the waiting room was freezing and while bathrooms were available, the women’s bathroom was quite disgusting. To me, that’s just a small detail that makes a difference given how long you’re spending waiting for your car.Overall though, I’m very happy with my new tires. I’m planning on going back to Mavis next month to have my brakes serviced. The prices are decent, the people are pleasant and overall, they make a mundane task relatively easy to deal with.”
