I had used Dodds & Eder for several years and always felt that their exorbitant prices were worth it because of their excellent service. Until last year.
Something changed and the service became terrible. They stopped doing all the little things that made them worthwhile and in fact stopped doing even the most basic of services. My lawn became full of weeds and bald patches. They stopped trimming the plantings that they had planted for me to the point where they are now completely overgrown and a mess. They came to do the Spring cleaning and left the property full of debris from the winter, weeds growing out of my gravel path (which they installed and previously maintained beautifully). They mowed over all my dog’s toys when they could have easily just kicked them out of the way. They left the gate open to the fenced in yard and the dog ran away.
To make matters worse, when I called all this to their attention I received a nasty call from Curtis insisting that the property looked great.
I finally hired another landscaper who came by and couldn’t believe that I had already had a spring cleanup.
Bottom line, I don’t know why the service has taken such a turn for the worse but they are no longer worth the money.

Dodds & Eder recently completed a patio and stone wall project at our home in Roslyn. Our experience with Tim Barry, Director of Landscape Design, and his crew was amazing. Tim is extremely creative and flexible. He listened to our wishes for the look and feel we wanted to achieve and presented a great design for our property. We appreciated that Tim always made himself available and was responsive to our many questions. The crew arrived on time and worked tirelessly each day and provided beautiful, conscientious craftsmanship. They were meticulous about cleaning up at the end of the day. We so appreciate that when our project began, the work continued each day through completion.Next up, landscaping in the spring with Dodds & Eder.Without hesitation we would recommend Dodds & Eder for projects of this type. Suffice it to say, our property has been transformed along with our enjoyment of it! Thank you so much Dodds & Eder! The Abramsons

How this company only has four review's, boggles my mind. Outstanding landscaping organisation out there.

Very pricey but you get what you pay for. There items are high quality. But it does go on sale at the end of each season.

It is funny to be writing a review for our plantings for a store that didn't provide them. That is the one problem with Dodds and Eder. The selection of plants is rather limited. My husband and I like to wander through large selections of plants to choose from. However, we DID get some really marvelous outdoor furniture during their sale. We saved a lot of money with the sale prices from top of the line manufacturers. I also enjoy their selection of pool-side accessories and attire. It is a chic little shop, but I don't consider it a place for plants.

For holiday decor, this Oyster Bay store is fantastic. I come here every year for Halloween and Christmas decorations because they have a great selection. They also carry gardening supplies, plants and very nice outdoor patio fixtures. Expect to pay high prices, the merchandise is of a higher quality so it's not a rip off by any means. Staff can be a little snotty some times as well but at least they don't haggle you when you're shopping. Just don't expect warm service or a welcome shopping here. Regardless, I will continue to come here each holiday season.

Local Nursery and outdoor store. Wow - the prices here are amazingly high - even for Oyster Bay. You can score a set of Christmas lights here for like $10 where they cost you $1 in any home depot. They have a pretty good sized selection of outdoor goods, but you have to be insane to actually buy these types of items here - unless you have a great accountant that can manage to write it off somehow. Parking lot on the side and on the street.
