August 2024 by Patrick Fontanosa
I went there early July 2024 for a low coolant level on my Land Rover LR4 2013. They did their diagnostic ($145) and told me that it was the water pump and thermostat housing plus the belt needs to be replaced as well. I need to do this because I have a long drive trip mid-July and I informed them about it. Abel called me later on that when they lifted the car, the transmission fluid was leaking. Showed me a video but I don’t see any active leaking except that its was shiny. I asked Abel if I could still drive the car and he said as long its not far. The coolant issue was “fixed” and drove the car home. When I came out of the car I saw “lines” in my driveway. When I looked at under the car I saw a waterfalls! I called the shop immediately and I spoke to Alex. I was furious about what happened and was arguing and later on he admitted that their tech hit the transmission cooler line and it broke. He then offered to tow the car the following day. I was really disappointed because Abel told me that it was leaking and implying that it was broken when I brought in. I checked the skid plate and there was no leak mark so that really means it was not broken when I brought in. Since I was really nice to them, we end up settling and still have to spend $900 to get the transmission cooler line fixed. Now, mid-July I drove the car to Maine as planned and not even halfway the coolant warning went off again! The reservoir is empty and I see and smell of coolant in the water pump area. I am really furious because besides I have a broken car we already have a for a family trip which I cannot be refunded already. I will post another review after I speak to them tomorrow.
Update 07/20 at 8:30am, called the shop and Abel picked the phone. I told him about the situation and told me that sometimes low coolant level happens after flush. He said to just topped it off. I will update this after 250+ miles
Update 07/21 at 9:30am at the camp, the coolant reservoir was at the lowest level. Topped off to max level. I really don’t see an active leak but still see the same shiny looking at the bottom. Its kinda tight so not really 100% sure. Will be driving another 50-100miles today. Will update this post again tomorrow.
Update 07/22 at 10am engine cold, the coolant reservoir was at the lowest level again. Topped off again to max level. Will update this post again tomorrow.
Update 07/23-07/24, drove 464 miles and topped off 5 times. It goes just below the low level before topping it off. Engine area continues to smell coolant. Will bring the car to the shop and hopefully fix it completely this time
Update 08/13/24, car was brought back to Alison on July 30 and was picked up 08/02. Abel said there was a hole and they fixed it. Coolant reservoir was at max limit. Car was driven 1800miles from Aug 9-13. Coolant was checked and it was on the low side. So far as of Aug 13, it stayed on the low side. Will give an update if there are any changes

These guys really care. They make good recommendations, do their best to get the diagnosis right, try to save money on parts, and if they get something wrong, they make sure they remedy the situation right away.
For example, I went for an alignment, but they found a tie rod issue and instead of just doing what I asked, they advised me to fix the tie rod. Which I appreciated and did. That still didn’t take the wobble away, so when I went back, and told them, they balanced the tires, and then did another alignment which solved the problem, but they didn’t charge me for the second alignment.
Another time I asked them to check my brakes, which they did but didn’t find any issues, so they did a brake bleed just in case and they didn’t charge me for it.
A great group of people that do great work.
It is expensive though. Less than a dealership, but only slightly. They have a fairly high hourly rate and only use factory parts, but the service level is worth it.
