We had a few visits to the OP Vet Clinic during emergency situations. In Oct 2022, they were so helpful in stitching up Izzy’s ear after she was attacked (unprovoked) by a dog at the Knox Farm Bark Park. But this review is about another level of care. Last Sunday, we noticed our dog trembling uncontrollably and saw swelling in her eye. Clearly in pain, we rushed her to the vet. After initial analysis and bloodwork, we learned our sweet 13 yr old pup had acute kidney failure (along with an abscessed tooth). We opted to have her stay overnight to receive treatment, but the next day, her condition declined and she was actively dying. We were devastated and heartbroken, but Dr Bulega was incredibly kind and informative as we navigated the next steps to ease the suffering of our pup. The rainbow room gave us a private place to comfort Izzy as we came to terms with having to put her to sleep. We spent our last moments with her surrounding her with love as she passed peacefully under the guidance and care of Dr B. Thank you for making such a sudden loss less difficult. We miss her terribly but are grateful for the grace she was given in her final hours

No compassion ?. Parked us in a room said it would be about a 40 to 45 minutes and someone would pop in to check on us. 90 minutes goes by i go to the front desk and ask they said she would go back and find out .nothing for another 45min. Dr finally came after I went back out to the front desk. Wanted 800 for xray and blood work. Hahaha New going back there

I brought my big dog in today and the staff was amazing. My dog gets over excited and a little anxious and they were so calm with him and patient. Even when he escaped out of the exam room and tried to chase after another dog to play? Great staff and great doctor!

I started coming to Orchard Park about 4 years ago when my 12 week old mastiff puppy lost control of his back legs and couldn't walk. I was lucky enough to get Dr. Springer as our vet ( even though I didn't get to meet her right away because it was during covid) she knew what the problem was in the first five minutes of looking at him after 2 other veterinarians told me " he looks fine" or "maybe his back hurts"
Needless to say, after she saved my Valentino, I switched to her as our regular veterinarian. Even though I live in Rochester, NY I drive an hour to see Dr. Springer to make sure all 3 of my pups get the best care and treatment possible. Not only is Dr. Springer knowledgeable, she is so quick to answer my emails if I ever have a question about anything. Thank you Orchard Park Vet and especially Dr. Springer for being absolutely amazing.

After all these yrs. of bringing in my animals to you, I used to think highly of you, but after Wednesday night, I so shocked what you put me, my neighbor, & most of all an injured cat through, for hrs. You claim you are there & have compassion for injured animals, wrong, you try taking advantage of ppl. that are in a crisis, just for money. OMG I'm so shocked that poor cat had to suffer until you finally was able to contact the owner when I told you that she released it to me b/c she was homeless from the fire that she lost everything including a puppy that passed in the fire. I can't believe you wanted money for cremation & services when you could see this cat's spine was severely injured & this cat was in horrible pain. You made my g/f sit there for over an hr. while trying to locate her. After hrs. later of getting hold of her, only to have to put this cat down while every min. counted. Totally I'm disgusted with how you take advantage of ppl. who don't have money, yet give them false hope just to make money off of them.

Incredibly competent and caring staff. I’ve had many experiences with veterinary facilities and grew up hanging out at my father’s veterinary hospital as a child. This facility is organized and the staff is responsive and professional. The clinical understanding and explanation of my pet’s medical problem and anticipated care was articulately explained. I wish all medical facilities were this quality.

I took my Maltese to them after midnight Sunday morning because he was non stop throwing up and didn’t have his balance. I was told to wait in the car and it would be 4 to 5 hrs. They said they had a lot of emergencies. I felt like mine was an emergency. I brought him back at 830 am and saw Dr Springer. She diagnosed him with vertigo and wanted to just send him home with nausea meds. At my request she did bloodwork. I was also concerned with his breathing. He was having a hard time. She said as long as he’s only breathing heavy by his belly and not his chest he’s ok. She also said something to the affect of your just getting a lot of air in your belly buddy. I took my baby boy home and called his vet first thing in the morning. I told them OP would be sending over Atticus’s bloodwork. They finally sent the bloodwork over after my vet and I both called. My vet called me and told me his blood work was not good and I needed to get him in immediately. He had a long road ahead of him but they would do everything they could. On the way to the vet Dr Springer finally called me back and said Atticus’s liver and kidney enzymes are very high and it’s fatal. While trying to catheterize my baby boy he passed away. I don’t wish anyone to ever be in a situation like I was in but if you are I certainly wouldn’t trust them and especially Dr Springer with the life of any pets. From the moment I walked in and they thought it wasn’t that big of an emergency for a 10 yr old to all of the sudden start vomiting nonstop and not having his balance, to finally being seen and being treated like it was no big deal, especially the the way he was breathing, to waiting until mid afternoon to finally call me to tell me he had a serious condition, only then to be so cold and tell me it’s fatal like it was not a big deal. Just completely unacceptable. Such a drastic change to what Atticus and I were used to with his vet, who showed only kindness and compassion throughout his entire life.

I have been alone in a room for 2 hours now. Nothing to drink. No one has popped in to say "we're still here." They should not have asked me to come in if they weren't going to see me for 2 hours. I'm dropping 1 star every 10 minutes for the next 40 minutes.
EDIT: Doctor did eventually come. Had to wait 2 hours for a five minute assessment. Dropping a star on principle.
EDIT 2: We're back to playing the waiting game. Apparently they need to synthesize the drugs my cat needs from base elements and that's why it's taking another 30 minutes.
EDIT 3: I have been in this room for 3 hours. Thinking fondly of my loved ones and wondering if I will ever see them again. Considering just leaving the cat and skipping out on the bill.
Edit 4: It took 4 hours and maybe that is exactly as long as it NEEDED to take, but boy did it feel like neglect. There's no where else to go so I guess I'll be back next time there's an emergency but DAMN, that was brutal.

Sooky had a wonderful life and we were lucky to have her for 15 years. Unfortunately, this weekend it became obvious that she was declining. We were going to wait til Monday, but because we believed it became necessary to help her sooner. We were reticent to go to the ER. OP vet ER were wonderful to us and Sooky. They were kind and respectful. They gave us as much time as we needed to say goodbye and made it easier for us to exit privately. All we encountered gave there very best to us and more importantly, Sooky.
Thank you to you all!

I had to rush my cat milo to this vet because my vet wouldn’t take her. When i got here they immediately checked on her… unfortunately she did not make it. The vet and staff were very nice and helpful. They were very sympathetic and supportive in my time of need. A few week later i received a letting in the mail from them about Milo’s passing and how sorry they were. Definitely a vet i would bring my animal too again. Thank you!

My sweet Mastiff puppy of 5 months old was bitten on the head/face by a horse. We called our local vet and was told "sorry we are too busy today." Took him to Orchard Park and they ran him into the back right away and provided care for him immediately. They were so sweet, caring, and professional. Even better was we got a call with an update on him at 7pm on a Friday night from the vet! Like who does that anymore? We are totally blown away by how amazing they are and will take him there for the rest of his life

Our family had a westie her name.Sugar
She was a cancer survivor, not performed by this clinic.
I took Sugar during 4th of July in desperation.(not one of my 2 vets was available.) Holiday)
Sugar was having seizures they looked at her after contracting me to Care Credit for $3,000.00 they kept my dog several days with giving us hope several times a day only to call back, Sugar had another episode, we will try this n that. after spending over the $3,000.00. to tell my family she needs brain surgery and starts at $2,000.00 to begin!!!
I'm not putting Sugar through brain surgery, she had enuff with cancer but couldn't survive seizures.
Sugar is gone to our sky world in peace
Is there any help from an organization to help me with this due bill.
