Really bad experience with hertz staff at this location. Booked a rental and went to pick it up on 2nd December, the two staff members didnt have the correct car available and tried pushing us to have a minivan which we repeatedly told them no. The heavy set guy had an attitude and was more interested in showing funny posts to his colleague. He lacked experience with the computer and cancelling a booking as he wanted us to use the preexisting booking for the larger size vehicle but take a smaller cheaper one instead without adjusting the price difference.The car itself had not been cleaned out properly and we found in the back of the car someones anti-seizure medication.The same person also argued with us when we tried returning the car and did not seem at all interested by the prescription medication we found in the car.

The Employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. My rental was through my car insurance and they shared details of my coverage with me that I had no clue about.

Vehicle was all beat up, not washed, not vacuumed and smelled bad upon pickup.. Needed for work, so had no choice.. Worst rental vehicle I have ever seen...

Horrible outfit, they loan you an unsafe vehicle, then they just keep tacking on additional charge after charge after charge. Even after you've already shelled over more money they still keep coming up with additional charges. They extort their customers for more money. Literally the lowest common denominator in the rental car industry. Steer clear of these scammers.

I use this as my main rental spot for work. I travel for a living and long trips I will rent. I have never had an issue here and have always been treated well. I typically book on the app or online, come in and get my car no sweat. The selection is usually pretty decent as well, not as good as some of the larger airport venues, but it suits me quite well.The rentals are usually clean and run well. I have only had one car with poor alignment, though I picked it up late on a Saturday so I couldn't swap it before I had to leave for my trip.My only real complaint is that they are closed on Sundays.

Careful. I got told by hertz that my auto insurance didn't cover anything if the rental was in an accident. That was false and I spent an exorbitant amount of money I didn't have to. Talk with your insurance first!

After my flight got cancelled (twice) in the chaos that is the blizzard of 2022, I tried looking for a rental car in the area to drive to another state one way and return the same day. This Hertz location came to my rescue - everywhere else was booked solid, and/or required a credit card (a real one- not just your debit card charged as credit!) at pickup. I gave them a call and was told I could use my debit card, provided that I was 25+, cleared a credit check, booked 24 hours in advance, and had $500 for the security deposit. I was lucky to have everything required to get this done (and that they even had a vehicle for me!), but in comparison to the airport, I'd take these conditions any day. The staff was knowledgeable, patient, and kind - both in person and on the phone. While the vehicle only had a quarter tank when I received it, staff updated the info to reflect that for the return. Plus, it was clean as a whistle and drove beautifully. Overall a great experience, will definitely be a returning customer!

I've *never* written a 1-star review before. This one is the result of a pretty dire situation on my end, that Hertz did not help me at all with. My car was stolen (and found, severely damaged if not completely totaled) earlier this month. To say it's been upsetting would be downplaying the entire situation. From the police to the insurance and rental car companies -- there are a lot of moving parts involved in the process of reporting your car stolen, filing a claim, etc. My insurance company set me up with Hertz for a rental car. I called more than once over the course of 10 days just to be told I'm on a waitlist and they will contact me when a car is ready. I was never offered a car at a different location or even an estimated date for when a car would be ready. Radio silence on their end. This added to the stress I was already feeling about my car being stolen. I eventually just called my insurance and had them set me up with a different rental car company, who immediately gave me an appointment date and time to pick up a rental car. I understand that my problems in life are my own, however this company had one job to do, which was to provide me a rental car or at least keep me well-informed during the process, and they did not do that. I strongly urge anyone looking for a rental to consider another company. There are plenty in this area -- choose one that is reliable.

If I could I would give negative stars. I tried to get a rental from them, 3 different times. Each time they said that my transaction was declined so I called my bank. The bank said everything is good to go. My bank even transferred me to the fraudulent department. While I was on the phone with the bank hertz tried to run my card again and again said no. The bank said everything is fine on their end it has to be in their end and that they need to contact their security/fraud department. The worker wouldn't listen and said it was on the banks end. I will NEVER come back here or recommend them to anyone.

This place is the absolute worst. We had a reservation for a van booked six months ago for a three week trip, and they scheduled the pickup for 12pm on a Saturday. We arrive with a few minutes before the pickup time, and the location was closed! No way we could get ahold of anyone either. Absolute joke of a business, DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PRACTICE. I'll be sharing this story everywhere I possibly can.

Was sent here by west herr for a rental when stuck at dealer & was discriminated against. All I had was cash and they did not care for deposit on rental. I asked if my wife could send a picture of my card over my phone and they said they need the physical credit / debit card which I do not carry. When I was leaving they took someone’s license # and card over the phone for a rental...the rental vehicles are also pretty gross, there shouldn’t be c** stains on the back seats of pick up trucks & dog hair and food crumbs everywhere.

Update. On February 11 I was charged $14.62. I called Hertz and spoke to Josh. He said I "probably returned the car late". I told him I returned it a day early. Then he said I "probably didn't fill the gas tank." I reminded him that the tank was only half full when I picked up the car. He said I would get a refund for the $14.62. I called back in March and Josh said it takes 4 to 6 weeks to get a refund. It is now over 2 months and I am still waiting. I spoke to Tim at the Southwestern Blvd office and he said the refund has to come from the Cheektowaga office because the car was returned there. He sent an email to the lady in charge of refunds and will get back to me when he hears from her.
