The Oneonta Salvation Army Thrift Store is an interesting grouping of diverse items. Like most thrift stores the prices have increased due to inflation and increased competition from other thrift shops. I must stress one important point. In disasters the Salvation Area offers those affected clothing and even furniture. The problem with the Oneonta Salvation Army Thrift Store is the lack of parking, usually vehicles of neighboring businesses. If you can't park you can't buy.

You can find just about anything and everything depending on the day they cover electronics kitchenware as well as housewares. You can find all kinds of toys books clothing. A few items that you won't find there are crutches car seats booster seats. All in all it is a very well-rounded place with very enthusiastic employees acquaint little shopping excursion

We walked in at 4:40 and were immediately told that they close in 10 minutes (they’re supposed to close at 5pm), in a very rude tone by the older man who works there (he had on a Salvation Army sweatshirt and a dark backwards hat with a grey American flag on it). they shut the all lights off except for the lights above the register at 4:44, while the older guy smoked a cigarette right next to the open door by the register where there was also a child breathing in that 2nd hand cigarette smoke. The guy was rude and stared at us in a creepy way until we left.By 4:50 we were back in the car and saw 4 people get turned away at the door and told to leave.Super odd behavior for a “Christian” non-profit organization.

They knowingly sell to people that purchase items In mass quantities and that sell them with over a 100% markup price on poshmark.. this isn't fair to the lesser fortunate that can't afford clothes in the first place. And the reason why when they go to the store looking for something decent they can't find it. If I could give this establishment negative ratings I would bc they know who these people are that come in every restocking day and buy everything ni e before anyone gets a chance and they will get reported to the better business bureau if they don't put an end to it.

I went on Saturday to donate clothes at around 2 p.m. The website states they are open until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. They were closed and locked tight. Worse, there is no bin to make clothes donations.I drove 40 miles to learn all of that. Not a good way to run a business, even one that is a nonprofit. Next time, my donated clothes will go to the Susquehanna Animal Shelter.

this is my go-to thrift store, i don't love SA as an org, but this is the place if you want reliably affordable and good quality clothing. i appreciate that they've also expanded how much furniture and larger housewares they're carrying. docked a star because there's basically no parking and only one changing room, but everything else is great.

I don't frequently stop in Salvation Army stores but we were waiting for some Chinese food across the street at China19 and walked here to look around. We actually found two board games to play with the kids. The store is well organized and relatively clean. The majority of the floor space is occupied with clothing racks, but the sides of the store have other items; toys, books, housewares, etc. The toys we bought were in good shape. The building looks like it's starting to show its age. Prices were very reasonable. There was some on-street parking right in front of the store.
