Requested a special item for 4th of July weekend. Was told to stop back in 2 days time. Gladly did but poor overwhelmed inexperienced young girl at the courtesy counter was overloaded and clearly didn't know where or how to get answers. I felt for her that there was no senior staff to offer support or direction. After waiting almost 20 minutes for my turn and another 20 minutes as she tried to figure out how to locate the product I requested, the response was, the manager of that department is gone for the day. I asked if she or someone could at least do a physical check to see if the product was being held in the back somewhere and save me a trip. I even pointed out the senior manager that took my request as she cruised by quickly so maybe she could at least ask her if she might have any updates. The senior manager gave us a sideways look and ignored us, clearly too busy to address us. The next day I was in the store again, there was no one at the counter and I didn't have the time or energy to hunt people down again. The minute I got home the store call to advise my order was in. I sent my son to pick it up since he was in town near the store. The disrespectful senior manager gave my 24yr old son an earful of attitude as she characterized me as a short tempered irrational person. We now do all our shopping elsewhere as there are MANY exceptional options in the area.

My review is for the nice man who waited on me at 9:14 Am on Saturday the 18th . Baseball cap , dark hair not a newbie or way to young to be there . Excellent personality , very polite . Should be the Deli Manager if he isn't already. These are the type of people your store needs to treat the customer right and ability to do the job . He's a credit to your store 6 Star revue FOR HIM

Rude management staff. Very unprofessional behavior. I could hear them berating a staff member for all to hear. Couldn't get assistance at the self checkout for over 10 minutes. Meanwhile, staff sashayed back and forth while I waited.

The young clerk we had was in a hurry to go on break, when we got home and went over our receipt she never used the coupons I handed her and we didn't get the sale prices on some of the items we purchased. Have never had this problem before but we were not happy today!

Three stars for bagels!!! As good as NYC bagels. Also the ready made salads were good. Found all we needed for our trip back home. This store is similar to a Publix. Meats are better looking than Wal-Mart. Yes their prices are a bit high but locals should know this already. No complaints. In and out. Self checkout is a breeze, we always found help.

No 10 items or less open on a Saturday so you have to use the horrible self checkout or leave. Also, many times I have found that food items I liked and purchased regularly are no longer being carried. This time the made in Italy cookies have disappeared. This location seems to put cheap items over quality and variety.

Never again. This store never seems to be stocked with items in their sales flyer, especially meat. You show up at 12pm on the day the sale starts and there is literally no meat priced at what you expect from the flyer. I was able to find two things I wanted to buy before going all away across town to make a second, unexpected stop to complete my shopping. At the self checkout section the card reader was frozen. The woman who was supposed to be monitoring the section was too busy gabbing with another off duty employee to help me out. I left with nothing! This is not the first time time any of this has happened to me. In the past I have contacted the store manager about poor treatment by cashiers, but was never even acknowledged. I guess they don't care all that much.

There is some good selection in some areas, but this is not my favorite store. The deli manager is pretty rude and most of the staff there now don't even know how to identify the products they sell. If something is going to be on sale, why wouldn't you order more in anticipation of increased sales? It's disappointing to be told, "Sorry, we're all out of that." I also prefer not to shop in stores where you can't get special prices without using their card. Why not just try to have reasonable prices for everybody? (Of course it is so they can track sales by demographic - the card system benefits them more than it benefits you.)

This Oneonta Price Choppers weekly flyer sale prices often don't match the actual in-store prices. I've noticed this more and more lately, especially on Sunday and Monday. I'm guessing that in the beginning of the week they haven't yet updated their system to correctly ring up what should be on sale after swiping your card. On the other hand, if I wait until the end of the week sometimes those items are completely gone. This is unfortunate because the only reason I go to Price Chopper is for these sales, since on average their everyday prices are higher than both the local Hannnaford and Walmart. When I've clipped coupons to match to their advertised "price-chops", and than later realize that I was charged full price it is really annoying. :(

I don't know if I've ever left this store without saying "Remnd me why we decided to come here?" It is abundantly clear that the customers are in the way of the employees. They block aisles, reach over your head, and push past rudely. If you value your health, be aware that the cashiers enjoy licking their fingers, the baked goods go moldy a day after purchase, and I have seen the nurse (?) at their pharmacy wipe her eye with a gloved hand before giving someone a flu shot. Sometimes the sale prices are really good, but I wouldn't buy anything that isn't on sale, unlss you enjoy paying 25% more than Wal-Mart or Hannaford.
