Gorgeous location, there is not a lot of staff available but we are used to sing Air BnB, etc. so are pretty used to that and it did not bother us.
Food and drinks: The on site restaurant is great also!

We stayed just one night to finish our getaway on a rainy but beautiful day, with our 2 large dogs! We were able to get in our room early which we truly appreciated, we had been camping, staff super friendly, we loved the room and beds, and the fenced play area for our dogs was wonderful, a very nice space, easy to let our dogs do what they needed, and in a clean space, the hotel area is just beautiful, the view is beautiful, very welcomed and we would stay again!

I am so sad to be writing this, as I had such high hopes for staying here. I am so so disappointed. We paid $300 for a room that is worse on so many levels than the $90 motel we stayed in the night before (which was also lakeside, btw!). Overwhelmingly, the worst part was the staff. They were so, so rude and unwelcoming. Everyone treats you like a nuisance if you try to ask a question or need something. The cabin rooms have really cheap finishing and the bathroom is in terrible shape. The floor is weird linoleum and the window shades are sticky. The tv is really glitchy and doesn’t have regular cable, just apps and you can’t cast to it. Just a truly disappointing experience. I really cannot believe I paid $300 for a night here.
Rooms: Beds are comfortable, but the rest of the room is cheaply furnished. Bathrooms have seen things, to put it mildly. The lighting is really bad at night and we had to use phone flashlights to find things.
Walkability: No walkability to Old Forge or Inlet.
Food and drinks: Restaurant on-site is okay. This was the only place we had good service!

It's difficult for me to rate it because the location is perfect. You can rent kayaks for free directly on site. The facility could be better maintained and the rooms are extremely noisy. In addition, it smells a bit musty and the beds are worn out - but still comfortable. Furthermore, the cleanliness is only 7/10. the staff is courteous and nice.
For breakfast: disaster and in no way does justice to the term hotel or resort. No selection, everything in plastic - unfortunately insufficient.

Terrific rustic boutique hotel with terrific views, food, service and Wifi. We would definitely stay here again.
Rooms: Rustic, clean, austere, electronic door locks, windows that open with screens, Adirondack style furniture inside, comfortable mattress, AC was a little loud, management said they would inspect and clean. Blackout window blinds on all windows, small one-piece shower, one sink in our room, Keurig coffee maker in the room, 55-inch Samsung HD TV with a confusing remote.
Nearby activities: Hiking trails right at the hotel. A few miles away from Old Forge, NY, a quaint and busy hub and not far from Big Moose Lake.
Safety: Didn't detect any safety issues other than a possible ankle sprain for newbie hikers.
Walkability: If you like to hike, Great Pines has multiple trails from about 2 miles to 8 miles in length. Otherwise, Old Forge is a car ride as are other establishments down Route 28.
Food and drinks: Surprisingly excellent quality with a unique take on things like wings. Pricing on both food and bar is excellent. In room delivery service for hot breakfast F, Sat, Sun from 8am-10am when we were there, and that food delivery was astonishingly fast.
Noteworthy details: Great location, awesome views of Fourth Lake, easy to find, well-lit from the road. Rustic and well maintained, rooms are clean with 55-inch HD TV's. In room and onsite Wi-Fi is excellent which is helpful because there is very spotty cell service outside of Old Forge and Great Pines.

I had a very peaceful and enjoyable time! On the go breakfast available or you can order something from a limited menu. Lean-To restaurant available for lunch and dinner on the weekend, full bar available. Beautiful rustic lodge with a sitting room and dining room. Pet friendly, enclosed dog area available. Two fire pits available. There are stairs down to the docking area, sadly no swimming allowed. Kayaks and paddleboards available free of charge to use.
No contact check in/out. Staff at the desk limited hours but assistance is a text/call away.

First time staying here. The grounds and on-site restaurant was amazing. Our room was beautiful but the bed was so worn out you sank like rocks. My husband and I had awful back aches from it. The jacuzzi tub wasn't cleaned properly as when we used it gobs of hair started floating. The shower was very small but doable and no water pressure that was more the problem. The bathroom sink was obviously plugged as it didn't drain. Room had a musky smell ok to be rustic but upon opening windows we found one of our windows had a broken lip to open it. Parking was Kaos as people were Parking there jet skies were people would park by there rooms. Jet skies and boats ect... should be in further lot. Assigned Parking near your room would be better. Yes facilities Need some updates but mostly in cleaning(as I was a housekeeper for many years) so I noticed things. I hope they work on them as I would love to rerurn next year with my whole family. I'm not bougie but simple little things especially when you pay over $300 a night. I didn't care that you didn't get room cleaned everyday as we were only there 2 nights. Anything beyond should just be done without asking.
Nearby activities: We did a dinner cruise on raquette lake and it was 20 minutes from here. Located nicely between towns.
Safety: We felt very safe there.
Food and drinks: The on-site restaurant was amazing. Food was excellent and wait staff was friendly. The purportions were huge. Definitely a place I would stop and eat at if I was passed through.
Noteworthy details: If your looking for picturesque quiet views like a post card romantic just need sometime for yourselves this is the place.

Stayed in cabin 29. Was not impressed with the cleanliness. There was black mold on some of the windows and the whole cabin smelled of mold, especially after we had to turn on the heat. Even the inside of the bathroom garbage can had mold in it. It was advertised we could order breakfast with a flyer in our room and the previous night at the restaurant was told they could deliver it to the room. No one answered the number and the place was locked. Disappointing. I received 2 texts asking me how my stay was going. Replied back was at a 3. Received a response that someone would get back to me. That never happened. I personally never saw anyone working the front desk when I would go inside. Went to the restaurant once had a burger. Food and our server was good. Bathroom was very sad. Too small of a shower/ bathroom. Along with the mold and moldy smell I have to rate this place low. The view and the restaurant are about all I could tell they have going on. Doubt I will stay here again. The big issue is the mold. Not sure how this place is getting away with renting rooms like this. I feel it's a health hazard. UPDATE: 2 of us tried the q code and it would not allow us to order. Something usually very easy for us did not work so we thought we could go to the building and order. SECONDLY:. To us the black spray looked like mold. I wasn't going to touch it and I had forgotten all of my lab testing supplies at home. It was a musty smell of mold made stronger once the vents were spewing the nasty all in the air. Yes I am sure the carpet is an issue as well. I told my sister and our friend we likely received the nastiest room for dogs. A service dog for my sister no less. Your offer and explanations are weak so thanks but no thanks.
Safety: Not Handicap friendly

Room was as expected - bathrooms could use some TLC. Beds are extremely soft, quicksand, but comfortable. Coffee pot and mini fridge in room. In the lodge, there are snacks and drinks available 24/7. Breakfast can be ordered in the lodge. Plenty of Adirondack chairs and places to sit and look at the water. Short drive to Inlet for shops and walking. Will be back! Thanks for having us! It was a nice getaway ?
Nearby activities: Short drive to Inlet for shops and stores

Disorganized and unprofessional check in! We stated upon booking and mobile check in that we had two dogs with us. Mobile check in stated they would provide us with a code to the room which it never did.
Check in starts at 4pm but the sign said front desk closes at 5pm? Weird. Happy we got there before 5 because the person at the front desk looked surprised when we said we had two dogs with us.. she stated that whoever talked to us on the phone and took our reservation is from a third party? Even though we called the number on the website we were still connected to not the actual hotel.
We were given the option of a non pet friendly room or a cabin with a delightful view of the back of the restaurant on sight. Joke was on us as my boyfriend and I both work in the restaurant industry and the last thing we wanted on our vacation was to be reminded of it. We opted for the non pet friendly room with fingers crossed they wouldn't be shady and charge us extra for cleaning behind our dogs on their white carpet.
Overall the room we finally ended up in was comfy and relatively clean. The bathroom was screaming landlord special loud and clear. Never have I ever seen painted tile and shower railing until I stayed here. Shower was tiny and turned ice cold the raging hot within 45 seconds in the middle of my shower.
For the price the place is severely lacking customer service from actual hotel employees and has been upgraded just enough. Will 100% be considering a different place to stay next time we're in the area. There were dozens of other options not far and still on the lake in the area.
Rooms: Good enough. Not worth the price.

Old Forge marathon weekend!
Comfortable bed, very pleasant and helpful staff.
