Newmart Sundae. It's really delicious...the side dishes are good...it's good for quick grocery shopping.

I rarely write reviews, but this is a caution for non-Korean or not-passing-for-Asian customers. This was my first visit to New Mart as my usual Trader Joe's and H-Mart were out of the way. I came in to buy a variety of fruits for traditional New Year's luck (Filipino and Hispanic customs). I ended up purchasing $70 worth of fruits. I noticed the Korean customers ahead of me were all treated kindly and the cashier bagged their items. I thought I'd receive the same service, but on the contrary the cashier did not even offer me a paper bag or a bag for purchase to hold all my fruits. I asked if I could buy the big, yellow bag. He laid it on top of my items, he waited for my credit card to process, printed out the receipt and left the receipt on the purveyor belt - did not even hand me my receipt before walking away from the register. I bagged all my items and left. Mind you- I purchased a small crate of clementines, a package of Korean pears, grapes, apples, kiwis, persimmons, etc.- $70 worth. How is it that the Korean customer in front of me who bought less than 5 items was able to get his purchase bagged, while I had a whole purveyor belt of fruits and could not get half of the same courtesy? I don't really mind bagging my own things, but the stark difference in customer service was very obvious. I like to give people benefit of the doubt...maybe the cashier had to rush to the bathroom, maybe it was just this particular cashier, maybe language barrier. But common courtesy and good customer service go beyond language/cultural differences. This small, cluttered grocery is convenient if you're in a hurry and in the area, but expect to be snubbed if you are not Korean.

10.27.23 The two female cashiers who worked on Friday night... They were talking about celebrities, so even when I said hello first, they chewed it out, didn't even make eye contact, and made facial expressions and gestures that made me feel like they were just going to get out of there because they finished paying quickly... The two of you kept talking about Lee Sun-kyun's drugs... This isn't a Chinese market, and they were doing the same thing as Chinese cashiers. As a customer, I felt very uncomfortable.

Their "ready made" food like soy bean soup and mochi (dduk) was/went bad the same day they were purchased. I was too far to go back to try to return them. =/

The cooked food in the back is done well but they need to be in accordance with food laws:1. Post ALL pricing in English and keep consistent2. Use the correct spoons to pick up food i.e., dont use pork spoon to handle the fish3. Know what theyre selling. They didnt know what kind of fish they had. Repeating 'fried' was not helpfulI am posting because this is probably the 4th time I have had to go through.

Korean grocery store. You have to pay more to buy same items than at Flushing Korean Market.

This Korean supermarket delivers on all fronts despite its smaller size. Its selection of essential items is impressive, leaving no room for disappointment. The standout has to be their banchan - an authentic flavor explosion that's an absolute delight.

Very good fresh produce at fair prices, also delicious prepared foods like kimbap to grab and go. I recently bought kimbap and fried squid, both were excellent. It's also clean but rather small. They have a fresh fish counter and prepare it as you request. They have a little bakery outside that sells Korean snacks and a nice selection of bakery items including mochi inside.

Fruits and vegetables are very fresh and of high quality. Groceries are well organized and maintained. Meats and fishes are also very fresh.
