I attended a class here with my wife, and they also made some modifications for me. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and very willing to share their expertise. I had a specific deadline to get my guns back, and Nick went out of his way to come in early to fit my schedule. When people go above and beyond to create a great customer experience, it really shows they care about their work.

I just completed the CCL course with Rob and Glen. I learned so much and had fun doing it. The instructors are so knowledgeable and enthusiastic that it was more than just getting a license- it was time well spent. Thank you Rob and Glen, just an amazing ?

Just finished the Concealed carry class at Dark Storm. First off, it didn’t feel like 16 hours of classroom time. They made it fun, interesting and educational. It’s obvious that Glenn and Rob are passionate about teaching, with safety and responsibility a top priority. They don’t just go through the motions. They genuinely care about their students and it shows. You will complete this class feeling more confident and proficient about this very serious subject.

I took a private lesson with Chris. Could not be happier. His classroom instruction was great, and extremely informative. Range time was also great. I am a newbie in my 60's, and Chris made me feel a lot less nervous, since this was my first time with my handgun. Highly recommended!

I recently purchased the DSI typhoon “other” and I couldn’t be happier ! Every thing about the gun is as advertised it almost shoots itself just got 500 rounds through it not one misfire or failure of any kind it’s well made has a great trigger and very easy to break down so New Jersey mite hate it but I love it go get one !

While I was shooting my older model DS-15 at the range, I had a squib load, which caused a catastrophic failure. They did all the right things in the aftermath and advised me to speak with the ammo company and take pictures of everything. They even gave me a brand new replacement DS-15 even though it was most likely an ammo related failure.

I recently completed three courses at Dark Storm Industries—Rifle Safety, Pistol Safety, and Conceal Carry—and I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. The instructors, all four of whom were knowledgeable and approachable, made the learning process smooth and engaging. I just finished taking the concealed carry class this week and it was great! Glenn Schaefer and Rob Kerr were great instructors. Joe DeTurra was a great help on the range qualification, as well as a great employee in general.
As for the course itself, it’s a USCCA certified course, so you know it’s legit. No sure you can say that about the other courses out there. These guys have a wealth of experience and knowledge. They cover everything in the book, no skipping, and that’s a good thing. Plus, they give you the real deal advice. They take this very seriously while having a great time teaching it because better, safer shooters benefits everyone. I am 100% a more educated and safer shooter after taking this course. Plus, Glenn personally helped me on the range. Yes, it’s live fire and they will have you shoot way more to qualify than other courses. I had my best shooting the night of the qualification, and I have them to thank for it. If you want to take a CCW course, take it at DSI ?.
As a side note, my second firearm was a DS-15 purchased at DSI. Is it Gucci? No. Is it quality? Absolutely. I’ve had it since 2021 and have had zero problems with it. I love that gun. Accurate. Reliable. Fun. The facility and the range are bright, clean, up-to-date, and spacious. It’s visually appealing and makes you want to be there. It’s my preferred range to train at and finally got myself a membership. I highly recommend a membership if you want to be a shooter and not just a firearm owner. Go and go often. Keep your skills sharp and a membership will save you a ton of money.
If you see any reviews that say the staff talks down to you, nonsense… unless you go there and do stupid $H!T, which unfortunately people do all too often. Handling deadly weapons is not the time to be lax or careless and they have to be on their toes all of the time, so if you do something that you shouldn’t, their going to let you know and be very direct and blunt about it. Glenn has given me a hard time several times over the past few years, and I’m still here giving him praise, so I guess I appreciated it because I’m a more responsible owner and shooter as a result. I guess the answer to that would be not to go to DSI if you’re overly sensitive, but then again, you probably shouldn’t own a firearm if you are because the kick of your .22 LR will bruise your ego and your shoulder.

RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Avoid this place! Go support Hunter Sports in Massapequa instead!! We walked in here and immediately felt the off-vibe from the staff when they stared at us. My husband politely asked for a specific brand, they cut him off and said “we don’t carry any of that brand stuff”. They talk down to you and have poor customer service skills. Not sure how this place is still running with all the poor reviews on here. I rather support other friendly and informative Gun stores. Very distasteful staff

Great store, range and staff. Classes are run with safety as the primary concern and are very informative. 6 points in the range which is very clean and touch screen control for target distance. Be warned, the range gets very warm in the summer so go early and on a cool day if you. Staff is very knowledgeable and professional.

I just completed the July 2024 CCW class at DSI. As a former instructor in a different arena I know what it takes to stand up in front of a room of people who you might or might not know and speak about safety, rules, regulations, for a specific topic and share your knowledge and experience in that area.
The instructors Glenn S. and Robert K. were amazing, they worked great together, the information they shared I wouldn't forget. They conducted themselves in a professional manner, they fit right in with the class, their interactions with the class was great. Its not an easy thing to hold the attention of a class but they did. I went into the class not knowing what to expect, and as a rookie in this field what taught me I'll always remember. I went home each night after class and spoke about these guys and what I learned.
The firing range qualification part was great and knowledgeable to learn the proper techniques. The commands were direct, loud, and easy to follow. Rob and Joe did a great job.
I've taken a couple of classes at DSI and will continue too. I've recommended friends to do the same. If you have a pistol license and never shot or even if you have and want to improve yourself or any questions DSI is the place to go. No matter the cost what you will get out of it is worth every penny.
I hope that the owners of DSI know what they have in Glenn and Rob and acknowledge them for the work they do and also the rest of the instructors. It's great when you can ask a question, or if you have an issue and need help all the staff is great.
In closing I hope again that DSI acknowledges in some way Glenn S. and Rob K. for the work they do.
Thanks for everything guys it was amazing. It's always a pleasure seeing and talking with you guys and the rest of the staff.
