Denise, the owner, is a thief!Happily she took all of my designer clothes, purses and shoes. Many still with tags on them. She sold all the items. Then she lied to me, telling me all the money went to the previous owner, when in fact she just kept it. She is a horrible human being. Don't waste your time here.

Since sold this place is a complete and udder scam. They loose merchandise when you want to collect the money, all of a sudden it’s not in their system, they also don’t payout properly tell you that you will receive one amount and write a check for another! Absolutely despicable. Would never take my business here ever and I am a longtime resident.

Helga retired after many, many wonderful years in Northport. The new owner, Denise, changed the stores name to Changing Tides and is continuing the practice of accepting beautiful, fashionable clothing and accessories at the store. I have never tried to offer any of my clothing on consignment, so I was not aware of the difference in the percentage of sales of one's own clothing were under Helga and are under the new ownership.I've been happy with every purchase I have made at Changing Tides and whenever I wear something I purchased there, I get so many compliments! It's amazing how great one looks and feels in an outfit from this store! If it is not too crowded, the sales staff will help you coordinate an outfit with shoes, hats, jewelry, whatever you want! They are vey thoughtful, never pushy and most honest. If something doesn't look nice on you, they will tell you and suggest something else, which looks great!I love this store. Did a lot of shopping there in the winter of 2022 and 2023, but unfortunately have not been able to get there this spring or summer. Can't wait to return, though!

AMAZING PLACE. Staff is so sweet and extremely helpful! I had bought this Peter Millar shirt for golfing and it was in outstanding condition. After extensive looking, all items are in great quality. I stayed in talking to management for about a half an hour, and couldn’t believe how personable everyone at TCS is. Needless to say, the shift in management has made this shop a MUST go to if you are in the Northport/Huntington area. If you aren’t, you should still venture!

This place ROCKS!! I went here on my birthday and the gals working were so sweet, helpful, and nice! The selection is the best I’ve seen at any consignment store and I left with the cutest bracelet! I’d highly recommend stopping in here, the vibe was just right! I will for sure be stopping in again when I’m back visiting the area!

Went into The Consignment Shop and was so impressed by the amazing selection, the helpful staff, and the great vibe of the shop! I found the cutest sunglasses at a great price! This is a must go to in Northport!!

I had a wonderful experience at this shop! Decided to stop in for the first time and purchased a super cute Gucci t-shirt! Everyone working was super friendly and there was a great selection of clothes and accessories. Hoping to go back again the next time I’m in town.

As a consigner, there are some new rules at Changing Tides. The % is less than as it was with Helga (50% -> 40% for the seller), and there is an additional per item processing fee of $2. Everything must come in on a hanger. I wasn't made aware of that prior to my first appointment and the owner said "sometimes people don't listen". I was not told by her staff. Still optimistic, I headed back there to shop at opening time, waited for 23 minutes and then left. They say they open at 10 and most often you'd be left waiting there. (It's happened more than once.) And they never answer the phone. Hopefully, the logistics will improve with time. Seems like prices are up - which is fine, as long as quality of items goes up as well. Staff are friendly!

Great idea to rehome my clothes and Helgas made the process easy so far. I had just been bagging my old stuff and donating to my cleaning girls. Thought this was worth trying as a new way of lightening up on my closet. Great staff and stuff!
