“This Edwardian building has some fabulous architecture, and now houses the Ukrainian Cultural Center. We stopped in for some food (the proceeds going to the Ukrainian support the Ukrainian people during the war), and got to see the bar area with it's vaulted ceilings. The bar is staffed entirely by volunteers, and has a neat selection of Ukrainian beers. The food was also made by volunteers, and we needed a translator to order! Everything was great, and the people were all welcoming. While the area isn't the greatest, they do have a parking lot on the east side of the building which can get packed, but offers fenced off-street parking.”

“Provide excellent service. There a food pantry, emergency programs, programs for children. Also have community garden in which volunteer part take in. This found be both a surprise and shows that they care, not only for the community. For ecology, environmental, and way provide health foods. So, when it comes to the food .. they are not totally depending on donations. This review is not finished. Plans to add photos.Since I am in a wheelchair, and depend more on the wheelchair, than public transportation.I was more concentration on getting my bags of food home. Than doing my usual photos. When there's extra weight on the wheelchair, have to use caution when I am wheelie with curbs and bad sidewalks. As well as finding ultra routes to take. That means planning ahead.Anyhow, this place deserves more than five stars.Even if you're not in need of their help. Stop by, check out the garden. Maybe leave a a donation or contribution. Trust me they see that your generosity is put to best for those who really need it.”

“Last Monday, June 13 2022, I attended a recital of the spring class of Jazz music students, under the tutelage of Carol McLaughlin. I decided to Yelp the event and was surprised to see that the Community Music School of Buffalo has not changed their address here. So my intention with this post is twofold: to let people know about the availability of jazz classes for all ages at CMS; to make the new location evident. It was a delightful evening, held indoors this year, and included a mostly solo piece by Mr. McLaughlin. The first link is a brief clip of Watermelon Man by the class. In the "read more" section there is a longer video of Carol McLaughlin's performance. The second link is the home page of the Community Music School's new location.”

“This year make it a point not to support breeders and puppy and kitten mills, and all the issues such places create for animals - give the wonderful animals at the shelters a much needed, loving home. The love you will receive in return from them is priceless. :)”

“(THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE PUBLIC AREA IN FRONT OF MERCY FLIGHT, NOT THE SERVICE ITSELF, WHICH IS EXCEPTIONAL)As far as I know, you’re not allowed to spot planes for now, but you probably won’t need to here until the runway nearby reopens in September. However, this was otherwise an incredible place for plane spotting. Hopefully the people making trouble here are caught, but I feel that having “limited access” to here forever is pushing it a little, and if that is the case, I will decrease my rating.”

“My experience with BPASBR was fantastic all the way. We were looking for a small breed as a companion for our mini beagle after his sister passed, and most of what is up for adoption in Buffalo is the usual batch of pit mixes, so it's great to have a place that specializes in smaller dogs. We researched a couple of adoptable animals and, when our first choice got adopted ahead of us, they recommended another dog for a home visit. That visit didn't go well, as the potential adoptee showed no interest in our dog and vice-versa. The foster parent/volunteer saw it, too, and when we said "no thank you," she agreed that it wasn't a good match and said our home was approved for when the right one came along--no pressure, just honest communication. A few weeks later, we brought our boy to their site on Military to meet a recently surrendered corgi girl. The play space was clean and well-supervised, and the two dogs hit it off immediately. We came again the following day, again with our dog, to see about some other candidates. None of them seemed a good fit this time, and again, all of the volunteers recognized it and seemed more interested in finding good homes than simply moving the dogs along. We agreed to adopt the corgi, BPASBR communicated a timeline for her spay and shots, and they made an off-hours appointment for the handoff when the time came. Everyone was friendly, honest, and communicative, and we are absolutely overjoyed to have baby Audrey in our lives. Thank you for all that you do Buffalo Pug and Small Breed Rescue!”
