Fun experience. It's $16 per person for an hour and a half digging for garnets. The tour is a few minutes of explanation of how the mine started, etc. Trowels are $5 cash and refund when done if you return the trowel. You can keep what you find for $2 per pound.

The Gore Mountain mine was so much fun! A great activity for children and adults. You get about an hour and a half to dig for garnets and take home any that you find. The staff is super friendly and helpful and there are garnets everywhere! You won’t be going home empty handed

We had a wonderful time digging for garnets. Our grandson found a great one! The mine is a lovely place!

Garnet Mine tours leave at 10:30, 12:30, and 3:00. Garnet Studio showroom is open from 10:00- 5:00 daily with a jeweler onsite. Come see one of the natural wonders of the Adirondacks, learn some history and geology and maybe even find a treasured family keepsake.
