I have been here a few times and the folks here are amazing! They always come through in ways the other ski shops in the area don’t. Worth any detour if takes. Best service ever.

I have rented at different stores in various ski resort from Wisconsin, PA, NY. This place may have the best rental gears and service compare to the others. We rented for 2days. I also tried to do snowboarding first time on day one, but no very successful and bring it to the store to exchange back to ski. On the day I returned, they didn't charge me me extra for the exchange.

When it came time to return my season rentals they were very accommodating especially since I returned them a little late. If your looking for a great local ski shop with reasonable rates. You can't go wrong with Cunningham's Ski Barn.

Cool place with vintage feels. I was at both Cunningham locations this week (Lake Placid and Gore Mountain). The Lake Placid shop had plenty of deals, not much going on at Gore.

The quality of the ski rentals is good and the service super fast (even in busy days) the staff could have been more polite and helpful :-)

Avoid this shop if you expect reliable customer service. I'd heard that Cunningham's allows customers to demo skis before purchasing that same type of ski, so I called and arranged to do this. I spoke to Tyler on Wednesday, who said he'd bring the skis down to the North Creek shop from Lake Placid on Thursday, so they'd be ready for me to try out at Gore on Friday. When I arrived Friday morning around 9:30am (the time I said I'd be there) I was told Tyler hadn't brought the skis down yet, and he wouldn't be there until later in the day. This after I'd driven 2+ hours and already paid on-line for my Gore lift ticket (which was not cheap). I will never shop here again.

I visited Cunningham's to purchase my first set of ski equipment. I could not be happier with my experience! Friendly and knowledgeable staff took plenty of time finding the right gear for me and answering my questions. I have skied multiple times on my new setup and could not be happier with the fit, performance, and comfort of my gear!

Just so-so, the selection isn't too wide, and the prices are pretty high - but that's what happens when you're the only game in a one-horse town. Good for an emergency stop if you forgot something, because it's STILL CHEAPER than on the mountain.
