Gerber Small Animal Hospital
3316 Military Rd, Niagara FallsI’ve been to A LOT of vets, for routine and emergency procedures. All of them prior besides OSU seem to price gauge and seem to care more about the green other than the animals. I truly believe many vets in this area are part of some sort of conglomerate and keep prices similar and attempt to crush those that do not comply.
This vet, completely goes against that norm. This was my first experience with them, for teeth cleaning / removal along w a fat mass removal on my Beagle. They were 1/2 the price of other vets in area ($1,500-$2,000 compared to over $3,000).
Not only that, a pet peeve of mine is vets requiring payment prior to treatment, which all in area do. DRIVES ME NUTS! It was refreshing to drop off my dog here and have them say, “we will call you when she’s ready!” And not pull out my credit card. Like it’s my dog, I’ll pay for it. Gerber gets it!
When I went to get my Pup the bill was BELOW the LOW end of estimate!! I’ve also never had that. I always come in expecting to pay high end or over as I always have before. I have had an animal die on the table and they billed the high end!! Apparently the complete procedure was 100% complete and the animal died (w/o CPR) AND they apparently used everything they estimated on the high end. Ridiculous.
Will Gerber always be below low end? No, of course not, things happen. But it is just so nice to see people caring about animals and not nickel and dimeing.
Lastly, speaking of nickel and dimeing her nails were trimmed AND ears cleaned spotless! They didn’t call and ask to do that for the extra $15-$30 other vets charged. They just did it, free of charge!
It’s just unheard of nowadays. All these extras, below budget, friendly, pay at pick up.
They truly care for the customer and I can’t put into words how grateful and happy I am. Thank you!

28 Old Falls St, Niagara FallsThis was not the typical sit down restaurant instead it's located inside the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute and serves as a simulation restaurant for the students that take courses there. The hostess informed me that everyone from the cooks, hosts and servers were all students which means they're still learning.
I stopped by for lunch and had made a reservation to celebrate my birthday. They seated me at a nice table by the windows. Complimentary bread is served with some butter, pickles and olive oil. My first course was the falafel stuffed with lamp and dipping sauce on the side. The lamb was cooked pretty well but tasted just a bit gamey. My main course was the German pork cutlet (jagerschnitzel) which came with some fried dough pieces and maybe pickled greens. The star of the dish was definitely the pork cutlet which was pounded thin and fried till crispy. The sauce it came with also complimented the dish very well. I also decided to get one of their mocktails (the original). After I finished my food, they came out with a special dessert which consisted of a cotton candy flavored cookie sandwich and piece of chocolate fudge cake. The cookie was way too sweet for me but the cake was just right. If not celebrating, worry not, you also get a complimentary flight of desserts as well.
Service could've been better but I'll just assume that the server was still inexperienced and nervous. Their hand touched some of the complimentary bread which seemed unhygienic, told me to put the utensils into the plate even though I was seated at a small table and they could've done it, and I overheard them remarking that someone finally ordered from the mocktail menu. It just seemed unprofessional.
All in all, this is a pretty good spot if you want a three course meal for an inexpensive price in the Niagara Falls area which doesn't have that many options to choose from. They also do dinner.
