My name is Ms.G, I drove my vehicle to Parkside Auto on Hyde Park for a red sticker inspection. My car was in good working condition, an employee, Mr.Palmer took my vehicle on a (55) mile drive cycle and blew my engine. I was treated very badly by the mechanic (Dave), his yelling at me was very unprofessional which caused intimidation and fear. I took Parkside Auto to Small Claims Court to take accountability for my blown engine and the Judge ruled in their favor and dismissed my case. I am now a senior citizen without transportation.

Be wary of their used car sales. A 58,000 mile car purchased from here from their salesman Robert Hendrix wouldn't start within 5,000 miles of use. Inspection by a trustworthy mechanic found that the fuel pump was burnt out, with wheel bearings and the front suspension crossmember also badly worn and needing replacement. It wasn't a couple months past that when the car stopped running again due to engine troubles, and with the cost of the repairs we were told would be needed it didn't make sense to keep the car. Judging by the dealership's response to the one other review of their used car sales here on Google Maps, it looks like they are only concerned that the car lasts long enough that they can't be held liable legally for selling faulty cars. Caveat emptor.It also looks like they may pad their reviews on Google Maps, as the reviewer "Red Hendrix" who left 5 stars five months ago has a name suspiciously to one of their salesmen, Robert Hendrix.I can't speak to the quality of their auto repair service as we haven't used it. Be aware that most of the reviews for this place are talking about their auto repair service, not the used car sales portion.

Parkside Auto is a great place take your car for inspection and repairs. You can also buy cars there. The mechanics are knowledgeable and don't rip you off. They also offer towing . Everyone there is courteous and take time to listen to your needs. I strongly recommend going there.
