I normally would not write a bad review because I understand that things happen... But this was an all around horrifying experience. I rented a vehicle from this location for a week because my transmission went on my vehicle. I was driving overnight through rural Pennsylvania. The check engine light came on and the car started making a loud noise. I felt like I was in a horror movie. I'm driving by myself through the mountains at night terrified that the vehicle I rented was going to break down in the middle of nowhere. I was 3 hours from home and 3 hours from my destination. I called Hertz and they said roadside assistance wouldn't come unless the check engine light was blinking. I thankfully made it to my location. I called Hertz and no one answered. I left a message and no one called me back. The next day I called a local Hertz in Pennsylvania and they told me I needed to switch the vehicle at a corporate location which the closest one was an airport that was 50 minutes away. I borrowed a family vehicle for the weekend. I spent much wasted time on the phone trying to get a vehicle held for me at the airport to drive back to Niagara falls. They said they would have one for me. I got to the airport and they did not have a vehicle for me! I had to wait for someone to return a car. I rented an SUV because I was bringing a bunch of stuff back with me. They gave me a tiny car that I couldn't fit all my stuff in. So now I have to wait even longer for an SUV. Once I got an SUV I drove back to Niagara falls. I dropped the car off a day early. To top it all off I was quoted $389 and I was charged $589!!! Is this a joke?! They told me it was because I didn't fill the gas tank up on the broken vehicle! I was told on the phone I did not have to. It is November 16th. I went October 19th. I was told I would get refunded for the gas only. Not for the complete inconvenience and that I barely even used the car.. I have not been refunded yet and I was just charged $36 for tolls. There's no way I went through $36 worth of tolls. I'm not sure how they can get away with this but I hope people read this review before renting a vehicle from here.

The location itself is fine, they had the cars I needed. No issues. However, I will not be renting from Hertz in the future because of their plate pass program which I was not informed about before renting. The program reads the license plate and sends you a bill a few weeks after your rental. I incurred a $1.24 toll which charged me a $9.99 "convenience fee" so I now have to pay $11 on a $1 toll. Not a huge deal but upon the many complaints about these companies slapping on hidden fees its just another one. Apparently the only way to avoid these fees is to change your EZ pass over to the rental car. Hertz is the only national brand listed on the plate pass site so ill just try another company next time to avoid extra surprise fees.

If I could rate this company zero stars, I would. I went to pick up my already paid for rental, a small sedan, which I thought I had gotten for an excellent rate. I was told that 7 vehicles were not returned. I was offered a Tesla, which I could not use as I was traveling 10 hours, and a minivan I did not want to pay the gas for on a long trip. I received no apology and was told I would have to wait 7-10 business days to get my money back, for which I had to contact a 1-800 number (they were also quite rude). Fortunately, I was able to find a rental through another company at the last minute. I will NEVER use Hertz again. Apparently with Hertz, you get what you pay for, which is nothing!

No car available despite being booked.Local alternative companies said that Hertz in Niagara Falls is notorious for leaving customers in the lurch. Do not trust.

Super accommodating, effective staff went the extra mile to offer an electric car while the local collision shop worked on a deer repair for almost 70 days. Zero issues with the rental the entire time.

I rented a car for a friend coming into town and explained that the passenger was legally blind and they would need help, well the person on the phone told me to have them go to Niagara Falls Airport to pick the car up and when they got there it was closed and told to go to Military Road,so off they went looking for Hertz and could not find it ,so someone told us where it was ! The sign and name are on the side of the building where you could not see it unless you knew it was there. Findly got the car and the gentleman programmed it for them so they could find where they were going....on the return trip they were told to return it to the Niagara Falls Airport, so they did so only to find out they were closed and they had to take it to Milltary Road AGAIN !,,, I really don't think they know what they are doing and need a lot of help before I would not recommend them to anyone....They got the car back 10 minutes late because of all the running around, so if they get charged a late fee I advise them not to pay it.....Rating oooooooooo!

Car was rented with overdue oil change light on and was dirty (rice on the seats). Almost every time the car was halted, it was stop and then restart when you press the accelerator. This caused hesitation and lurching. Very disappointing considering the expense.

Normally, I like renting a car from Hertz, but I would never recommend renting a car from the Hertz at Niagara Falls airport. The location closes at 5:00 before most flights get in. I really don't understand why this is allowed at an airport. AND forget about trying to call a human being. No one answers the phone. Never again.

Terrible service, not enough cars for people order it from online, over charge from credit card after return, I would never rent car from it again.

Never will I rent from there again, I was called a racist by the person on the phone. Do your self a favor don't rent from there, they might call you a racist!

What a bad business practice to allow someone to book a car online only to call them a couple hours later and tell you they don't have a car and are cancelling the reservation. Especially when you're 3 hours from home without a vehicle and need to leave in the morning.

I will start by saying the Hertz on Sheridan Drive is amazing wonderful customer service I originally was supposed to go to the one on Military Road but they didn’t have the vehicle that they told me they would have when they had it so I had to drive 30 minutes out of my way but it’s OK I got better customer service now I had to drop off the vehicle in Niagara Falls because obviously that’s closer to me when I dropped it off the only thing which I understood was the gas ,that night it was so cold it was one of the coldest night we’ve had and I couldn’t stop so ok take the deposit for that but 160$ cleaning fee!!??? For what there was no pets no smoking a little dried mud because it’s Niagara Falls??♀️ 160$ yeah nope!!! Never again enterprise is better better customer service AND deposit is only 300$ verses 500$ hertz needs better employees you book me for a vehicle I get there it’s not there so I now have to drive 30 min away and you have the nerve to charge me!!!!!!!! Do not go here very unfair!!!! First time and last!!!
