It had been over 30 years that I had owned and showed horses. I decided to get back into riding and selected Gardnertown after reading reviews and checking out the websites. Gardnertown concentrates in their Polo and Hunter/Jumper programs. They host many "A" rated horse shows as well as schooling shows. They give lessons in these disciplines. Lesson expectations are to also groom and tack the lesson horse. I really didn't have any direction on discipline or how far I wanted to take things. After about 8 months of lessons I asked about their schooling shows and in September 2021 I competed in the W/T/C classes. I was able to ride a lesson horse and expectation is to come the day prior to show ready grooming of the horse and cleaning of all tack. Great experience - supportive and the whole barn "family" was very kind and just as supportive. (Family - boarders, leasees and other students also showing)Farm owners are accommodating and friendly. Trainers are great! In the summer I had several different instructors. Many different lesson horses for all different riding abilities. They have 2 large indoor, and 2 outdoor arenas. Wash and grooming stalls, indoor viewing areas, boarding and leasing available.

I was invited to a Krsna Consciousness Retreat at the farm for the weekend. It was my first time out camping ? and hiking through the woods so I was unsure of what to expect. However, the entire experience was absolutely beautiful. Such an adventure!!! It gave me an opportunity to reconnect with nature and tune in spiritually. They also offer horse riding lessons for the locals. There was even some little girls’ birthday party being held there on the other side of the ranch on Saturday. They had a dog ? name Baxter that I fell in love with and the cat ?⬛ was loving me? I totally recommend this place for any reason to get out and bond with nature and get yourself grounded. Great equestrian facility. We were there for polo and the arena and viewing area are to notch. The people are super friendly and helpful. The horses are treated with respect and kept healthy.

I was incredibly disappointed that such a beautiful, well maintained barn, would employ such a rude man to run their horse shows. This man literally yelled and screamed at us parents for trying to help our children get prepped to show. We were all distanced and wearing masks, yet he continued to scream and tell us that if we didn't "GET OUT!", we wouldn't be allowed to watch our children ride. The barn is beautiful, the grounds are beautiful, the horses are well cared for and sound. It's so unfortunate that one terrible man could ruin our experience at this place.

Gardnertown Farms is an amazing barn, the instructors are sweet and they teach with great knowledge. The horses are very good and there is such a big variety there's a horse for everybody. Highly recommend, very laid back and sweet, kids and adults.
