Every time I go to this post office location, my morning is ruined. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it is the only one in the east harlem area. It opens at 9, not ideal considering most new yorkers start their work day at this time. If you go at 9, you might be lucky enough to wait inside while just 1 worker gets set up for the day around 915. Instead, today was one of the days where customers waited outside for no one to show up- if you have a baby, are elderly or have a health condition that does not allow you to wait for a prolonged time in or outdoors, you should go in the afternoon.

I have seen good costumer service in this branch in previous times. My last experience was not so good and it has to do more with the usps policies. I paid 75$ to mail very important documents to Europe using Priority Mail Express International. And guess what? 5 business days later and it still hadn't reached its destination. On the 6th day I went to this branch an employee tracked it and assured me that once it arrived I was entitled to a refund. The envelope was delivered 4 weeks later... I go to this branch with my receipt to get my refund. Their system showed that they didn't owe me anything despite the unbelievable delay. They said "They can't guarantee that the postal service in the foreign country will deliver on time". I said well I won't be using your service anymore. And the employee answered "It's your choice"So if someone offers a service that they will deliver your envelope in 5 business days and you pay a fairly big amount, and they don't execute their promise, what does that make them?If you can't guarantee it, then why promise /offer it? That's not very decent, is it?So, the conclusion is if you pay for Priority Mail Express International, USPS will deliver it to the airport for you the next day for $75 or so (depending on weight and destination I guess). That's it. That's what you are paying for. So better off going to DHL...Especially if you have important and time sensitive documents. Lesson learned. I wanted to trust them. Never again.

This is my absolute FAVORITE post office in NYC! While I can’t speak for EVERY attendant, most of the employees are sweet. The lines actually move and the Afr.Amer. young lady with the gap is truly a delight. She’s kind even on the gloomiest days. I hope whomever her leadership is sees this and rewards her accordingly as I’m in sometimes 3-4 days a week and her presence of positivity, efficiency and integrity never wavers.

There is a lady at the desk who covers her head with a scarf and always asks questions when i mail an overseas package requiring a customs form. She has asked “why are you using such a big box for only this item?” Or “why is the price of the sweater only this much?” Etc etc. she is the only one there who does this , and these personal/private questions should NOT be asked so long as there are non hazardous or dangerous items in the package. It is very annoying and rude.

I think the experience at this location depends on the USPS worker you interact with. I had a pleasant experience interacting with Carolin. She was very kind and helpful. More importantly, she was patient. Compared to this location, the USPS on Columbus Ave in UWS is quite bad. There, the workers are sluggish and just not interested in their jobs. I also see that they don't wear name tags. Probably because they don't want to be identified.

Worst post office I've ever been too, I had a question about a package that was in transit and came in close to the end of business. The representative that assisted me was absurdly rude. When I asked what his name was he responded "me I have no name, stop wasting my time." Truly a bizarre experience.

The rudest service imaginable. The machines were out of stamps as well as receipt paper and the employee did not care. The employee was chomping gum and seemed to possess the social graces of a 5 month old. Ridiculous that we are paying for this level of "service".

My children had a passport appointment set for 12:45pm. We arrived 20 minutes early only to be notified that their camera is broken and suggested we go across the street to CVS. After taking the passport pictures, we arrived back only to wait an additional 25 minutes due to the worker providing services at another counter. Once their documents were checked, we were asked to go to another window for processing which NONE of the workers wanted to assist due to it not being "their appointment to handle". We were then asked if we could wait an additional 30 minutes because their AC was out and they were waiting for it to get fixed. I honestly didn't understand the correlation considering they had fans were working. Thankfully Emlia was the ONLY worker who offered to provide assistance and went out her way to do so. Emila was a pleasure to work with. The customer service there is HORRIBLE. Management needs hire better.

This is the worst and most unprofessional post office I ever been too. Had a passport appointment waited 25 minutes the person who was suppose to be helping me then argues with me about when I inquire about the wait time. Disgusting how I was treated don’t go here.
