over all, Michael's is pretty pricy. employees are nice, but two 5 inch strings of plastic beads are usually $6-12. I recently crochet a pillow with the Michael's yarn and it was fine, until I decided to buy the supply to make another one although the yarn balls I've noticed have definitely decreased in size. still a pretty nice store and always is ready for the next holiday set up with decorations at the front. (for sale)

i have been meaning to go to michael's in chelsea for a long time my list was getting longer and longer. so glad i did as i was able to get just about everything i needed to use for my greeting cards. I was a bit overwhelmed with the size of the store and found a super friendly and helpful person named michael who i later found out was the manager. after showing him my "hit list" of items i was looking for he was so kind to literally walk to me every aisle! thanks to him i was able to find what i needed and even check out was pretty quick. i was able to use my coupons and gift certificate with the help of another nice person at the cash register who helped ring me up at the kiosk. all in all i would say they all deserve shout outs as also the store was neat clean and well stocked and everyone that i encountered really seemed happy to be working there and took the time to make sure customers too were happy and being taken care of also.

Michael's is my go-to store for my inner child. It has such a variety of items to use to create great artistic masterpieces. I took my 2 year old grandaughter, and she was able to explore plastic creatures to colorful containers of paints, brushes, crayons, clay, canvases to candy. They have great sales and wonderful membership incentives. Great store!

Deceptive Pricing Practices at Michael's Store on 23rd Street, ManhattanI recently had a disappointing experience at Michael's store on 23rd Street in Manhattan. While the advertised price for light bulbs was $1.69, I was charged $3.49 at the checkout. What's more concerning is that the staff showed no interest in addressing the issue or providing assistance. This apparent deception in pricing raises questions about the integrity of the store's practices and its treatment of customers. Overall, a regrettable encounter that left me questioning the store's commitment to honesty and customer satisfaction.

Well-stocked location with friendly staff. I always find what I need, and the coupons always make prices comparable to online shopping.

Warning: you might take hours to leave the store because you are going through all the arts and crafts aisles

Pretty large space, I mainly use their pick up service which is right at the bottom of the escalators

I'm not gonna lie, Michaels is my jam. It has everything I could 'almost' ever possibly need for the most random stuff and projects. Fabric, knitting supplies, art supplies, super glue, baking supplies, gift stuff, picture frames. Like every size picture frame you could possibly imagine which is a pretty hard feat. Sometimes the stuff is scattered around in a way that it's a bit tricky to know where to hunt for your treasure but overall I always leave pleased and with some kind of discount. Two for one on frames?! Hotdog! Winner winner chicken dinner. I pray this location never closes.
