Racist supermarket. Although most staff is Hispanic. They discriminate against non whites. They walk around like gangs. I feel threatened every time I go in there. They like to surround people.

As an Afro Latina who recently moved to the neighborhood, I was eager to explore the local Key Food store with my son. Hoping for a welcoming shopping experience in our new community. Unfortunately, our visit was anything but pleasant. While walking through the aisles, an employee who was restocking shelves accidentally pushed me. The lack of an apology was startling enough, but what followed was even more disconcerting. This individual immediately began instructing other employees to watch us closely, insinuating that we might attempt to steal something. This assumption, made without any provocation, was not only humiliating but also tinged with a discomforting layer of suspicion that I cannot help but feel was influenced by our appearance. The behavior of the staff was not just unprofessional; it was personally distressing. Creating a hostile and unwelcoming environment, especially based on unfounded suspicions, is unacceptable in any setting, more so in a neighborhood grocery store that should serve as a cornerstone for community interactions. This incident has left me deeply disappointed and questioning the management practices of this Key Food location. It's evident that there is a significant need for improvement in employee training, focusing on customer service and perhaps more critically, on diversity and sensitivity training.I share this review in the hope that it serves as constructive feedback for the store's management. A change in how employees interact with all customers, ensuring respect and a welcoming atmosphere, is imperative. Until then, my family and I will be seeking other, more inclusive places to shop, and I encourage others who value respectful and dignified treatment to consider doing the same.I called before posting this review, however I was hung up on by a woman she said the “ manager “Kevin was busy “ there for I felt the compelled need to post this post.

The manager Dave is insufferable, unprofessional, and frankly unstable. He follows me around the store, stands to stare me down when I'm in line a why?! I don't know. When I ask him to leave me alone he yells. Telling him to stop only makes it worse. It's pure harassment. On top of horrible management, Sale prices aren't honored EVER and too many items in the store are not priced on the shelf (mystery pricing). Go anywhere else for groceries.

Great neighborhood supermarket with an impressive selection of fresh, well-tended produce, basic grocery and household products, and even specialty items like Bob's Red Mill flours and grains. Weekly sales are terrific, with deep discounts on such staples as butter and laundry detergent (the weekly flyer is available in the store as well as online); and the hardworking staff are unfailingly gracious and helpful.

It's OK. Most products like most supermarkets are ridiculously high in SALT / SODIUM and SUGAR / FRUCTOSE ... Local restaurants send their kitchen staff in here to stock up on meats. That's right! you are paying the restaurants next door 30, 40 dollars on a steak that cost maybe 8 bucks. Depends on the steak. You are eating supermarket food at these local restaurants. LOL! Produce is a bit off. Not the freshest fruits and veggies. Most food here is not for the healthy. If you like farm raised fish or regular super market meats then this place is fine. They do have sales and the sales are actually good. Prices on most items are cheaper than other local supermarkets. UWS is not a cheap area.

I stopped in this grocery store to pick up fresh herbs to make roasted potatoes. I was happy to find thyme and rosemary packs for $1.79 each. That's reasonable. I couldn't find what I was looking for at first but then I asked the store employee and he pointed me to the right place. Having helpful staff is always a good thing. The store is a bit crowded but they made the most of the space. I would stop by again for groceries when I'm in the area.

Some people criticize this supermarket but if you prefer to pay high prices, go to Gristedes nearby. For me, a good solid supermarket with reasonable prices and simple customer service is more than enough. Key Food is not Morton Williams, it does not have every product under the sun, but it has all of the usual products that most households need. For most situations, it is absolutely fine.

They aren't huge, but they have lots of selection. Plus, go in and if order $50 minimum you get free delivery.

I go to this store all the time. They must have a lrg shoplifting problem cause there are photos of offenders all over the store.Creapy! Anyway I went the other day bought just what I needed. Put in one of their baskets! At the register, all came to $69. an change! I was shocked, and angry! Just outrageous, I felt I chose items on the cheaper side. I am a senior I just has EBT CUT, by Biden! If Joe Q public doesn't realize it0, we did receive a COL raise in January, no good, EBT cut by $100.00, just about the same amount we received! It was a wash! Thanks Congress! I have been counting the days until I get my allotment, skimping as the days go by eating what's in the house! Not much!
