Rick is the main reason I go to Crunch. Incredible coach and great guy!

Women in the East Village and LES area of Manhattan please be aware, and I urge you to look at other gyms in the area instead of joining crunch. This past January I had a disappointing and scary experience at Crunch Fitness at their Bowery location. During a group fitness class another member taking the class exhibited extremely inappropriate behavior towards me. This behavior clearly violated crunch’s code of conduct. There is another review that mentions Alexandria, the current Operations Manager of this location, and she was not helpful or sensitive to my situation at all. The gym is supposed to be a safe and comfortable space for all members, and the staff at crunch failed in making me feel space at this location.

Towels offered and very good equipment selection but bench and squat racks are always occupied by power lifters with 3 min rest times

I book gym time here on ClassPass sometimes when I’m visiting town. They generally only have a few spots open per day, and they are only off-peat slots. Even then, the gym is usually very busy.In comparison to Crunch Union Square, this one has a much bigger weights area with a lot more cable machines and dumbbells but not nearly enough squat racks or places to deadlift. As a woman lifter I also find the culture here a lot more bro-ey. Guys tend to hang around the popular equipment for a long time and chat with each other whereas at USQ people finish their set and leave.

Solid gym in the East Village. Good equipment. Not a big course program. The course I took was a lot of fun. Showers and changing rooms clean but simple.

I had the worst experience with the gym management, specifically Alexandria. Initially I loved the gym, appreciated the classes, however, the gym management completely failed to communicate clearly and respectfully with me. I had an injury which prevented me from exercising. So I asked to freeze my membership. I was told that I can’t do it in the middle of the month and will have to freeze only starting the next month. Ok, I did it, also paid the fee of 25 dollars for it. Then in the end of October I had another injury (yes I am not lucky) and literally was late by a day to ask to prolongate the freeze for the month of November. So I came, apologised for the inconvenience, showed the paper from the doctor that I had an injured leg and asked to prolongate the freeze for November. That was not possible according to Alexandria but she could freeze the month of December for me. Well, by that time I hoped to be in better shape to be able to exercise. Obviously the gym didn’t care about that. I called and asked repeatedly to freeze November for me. After a week of me running after them, calling and sending emails, finally it was authorised. By that time I was already exhausted and asked my bank to cancel the charge. So now when it is the month of December and I could come back as a client I was told at first that I could reinstate my membership starting December and just pay 25 dollars for the allegedly frozen November. After agreeing to this I find out the next day that actually not - I have to pay the full price for November and December. And when I ask for the explanation I receive it two days later, it is literally “you just have to pay this”. I can’t get on the phone Alexandria as she is busy doing inventory or she is out of the office. Basically it is exhausting dealing with them. Even if you die they ll continue charging you, they literally don’t care. Worst client service in my life. Absolutely not flexible, not client oriented, absent management.

Classic corporate gym. Way too loud crappy pop dance music. With literally every member wearing headphones to block out the sound. Ugly color scheme. Lame radio ads that blast out like you're a Walmart shopper throughout the gym every so often. Corporate motivational slogans on the wall. No windows and most of the gym. The only upside is the location. across the street from my house.

Clean facility, friendly staff. I didn't realize that it's considered a signature crunch (doesn't count towards the membership unless it's your home club) but overall it's a great gym to get a quick work out in

Awful customer service, awful experience, the worst management, one of the worst gyms I've even joined. They lure you into signing contracts and then they dump you without any care. Their business is to lie to milk as many dollars out of you as possible. Stay away for your own sake. Most of all stay away from the trainers, it's a total scam.

Spacious, well equipped and always clean. Love how all stations are logically divided. Stuff is nice too. Not too crowded either.

Did not allow me to use the free 3-day pass I got via their promo even though I had only used 1 day at another location.

They did not let me use the free pass from their offer because I had just gone to another location even though the pass was a free 3-day trial

I love this gym. It is very clean and has all the machines/space that I would want in a gym. The staff is super kind and professional. After doing some research about gyms in the area I decided to join Crunch, and I am so happy I made that decision. This is the first review I’ve ever left on Google, which says something about how great this place is. Thanks to everyone over at Crunch!
