They worked with our budget and helped educate us on diamond grading and ring designs so we could customize our ring. After we selected the design, they coordinated execution with my boyfriend so the proposal was a surprise 5 months later. The ring is beautiful! It looks so much better than I imagined and the craftsmanship is immaculate. They even resized it at no additional charge after the proposal due to weather impacting my finger size. The process was very smooth, thanks to their customer service!”

“Was flying in the day before an important event and needed a business (ish) suit. They were able to make some modifications after a brief fitting. Within about an hour I was walking out with the whole suit, etc. Not a flashy cutting edge fashion suit, but quite classic and did the job, was certainly better than having to buy and transport an outfit on long flights. “Basia created a crown for my daughter based upon my mom’s headpiece from 1956. It had more bling than my mom’s but it turned out beautifully and went well with her dress. Side note: Basia never saw the dress and had only my input and not great pictures to work from.

“Everyone at sew elegant was so kind! The only reason I’m removing a star is because of the price. I initially was quoted $1100 for taking in the waist ($500) and the hem ($600) for one dress, and another $600 for hemming a second dress. I decided I did not want to get any hemming done on both dresses, and just wanted my waist taken in for one dress. Suddenly, the price jumped from $500 to $750 since I was just getting the waist taken in. I asked for a cash discount and ended up paying $700 in cash to get just the waist taken in (not including the hem) for one dress - which was much pricier than expected. I’m thinking that it’s just NYC pricing and maybe I should have done more research beforehand. Just something to note for brides planning on visiting this tailor. Everyone is so kind and professional though. Also love how the dress turned out! Cannot wait for my big day :)”
