This place was recommended while visiting a different place, thank you to that guy, sorry I forgot his name. But this place is simply awesome. Wear comfortable shoes, wear a hat. Place is huge but the scenery is awesome a must visit. So many cool art sculptures. There's restrooms on the premises plenty of parking. Picnic tables to enjoy a snack or lunch, there's also a cafe aswell.

Called this place at least 5 times and no one answers the phone, and you will just wait and wait with music playing. After awhile, I gave up. Thumbs down. How can I get the information I need to visit????

We went the free Friday of 4th of July weekend. Expect hot and lots of people. They were totally unprepared. To start, first thing in the morning the line of 6 potable toilets at the entrance— not one had toilet paper and the hand sanitizer dispenser was empty. On one of the hottest days of the year, only one tram was running, so most of the time when it stopped it was full and you could not get on. Old people with canes had to walk in the heat or wait half an hour for another tram—that also had no seats. On a hot crowded day, run 2 trams! Plus tram driver was angry and rude to everyone. Museum house on the hill has no air conditioning, so there is no place to escape the heat for 10 minutes and recharge enough to walk a little more because you cannot get on the tram

We had the opportunity to visit Storm King. First off, you can buy ticket ahead of time and there is an hour window to enter the park. We were honestly a little late but there was no issue. This is big area so if you plan on taking kids that do not like to walk, this may not be the best use of time, or bring bikes or other means of transportation. There’s a museum on the top of the hill where there’s always a different artist being presented. You can spend the entire day here, picnic, or just walk around. Make sure to bring a water bottle and dress comfy.

We went on a free but very hot and humid day on July 5th. Scenery and well maintained grounds are beautiful with interesting large modern sculptures to see. There is construction going on in some areas, so certain amenities were not available temporarily. Bring your own food, drink, and good walking shoes. Snacks are expensive to purchase. Water was available to fill a thermos or cup. Great place for walking and bike riding.

Great selection of contemporary sculpture in a beautiful, natural setting. Lacking in diversity of artists (collection on view was composed 70% of work by white men). Did not like that we were not allowed to bring our bikes in, but then they offer bike rentals on the grounds. The trolleys for transporting people on such a hot day was great but they need them running more frequently, and to have the time sheet and stops marked on the grounds maps being handed out when you buy your ticket. Can’t wait to come back when all the renovations are done!

Great place to appreciate some art and have a picnic on a bright sunny day. You have small truck for coffee , tea and hot chocolate (all 3 were terrible btw). entire open air museum can be covered by tram that takes you to all the important art stops . Last tram is at 5, post that you have to explore it on foot. Overall a decent experience

Fantastic experience. Not to be missed. Was a little disappointed no bikes available. It is an experience not to be missed. It definitely is a one of a kind place. Their collection is fabulous. The layout and sight lines of the sculptures were very nicely thought through.

Had the best time. They have a tram that can take you around the 500 acre park with large sculptures. The bike rental wasn’t open yet, but we’ll be back to try it out! If you like walking this is perfect for you. Highly recommend to bring sun protection (big hat, sunscreen, sunglasses!). Perfect for a picnic and getaway with family and friends. I’d suggest to come early to beat the crowds!

Storm King Art Center is a one of a kind sculpture garden. The center offers interesting sculpture art in an impressive bucolic setting. There are more than 100 pieces of art set over 500 acres. There really isn’t a museum like it anywhere else.
It is easy to walk around. Bike rentals are offered and it looked like they were a good way to get around. Tram rides are also available and offer a quick way to move around and see everything in the museum.
Visitors are allowed to interact with and touch a few different sculptures. It is also easy to scan QR codes with your phone to find out more about each piece of art. Staff are friendly and can also help you with directions or questions.
The “Museum Hill” area offers great views across the garden and of the nearby mountains. The “South Fields” section offers a nice walk by a pond and some of the largest pieces of art in the premises. The “North Woods” section offers a quiet walk through the woods with different sculptures mixed in. Be sure to see everything.
Be sure to purchase tickets online. It is the only sure way to get in, especially on weekends. There are food trucks located on the premises. They are working on constructing a new parking lot, so be prepared to follow a new way into the parking lot upon arrival. Storm King is a must stop for anyone interested in out of the ordinary museum.

A delightful stroll through massive fields and beautiful trees / forest containing sculptures of all sizes from enormous to moderate. Several truly extraordinary pieces, well manicured grounds well worth the price of entry. You may find a better individual piece elsewhere but collectively this place is definitely worth a visit. Some people might need more than a full day to cover it all if they walk slowly. Highly recommend along with Art Omi which is about 90 mins north.
