The drive to New Paltz was scenic and beautiful, setting the stage for a wonderful stay. From the outset, Alana proved to be a remarkable host—flexible with our arrival time and warmly engaging in discussions about the origins of her bed and breakfast, the perfect host through and through. The food was exceptional; despite my usual indifference to French Toast, Alana’s blueberry French Toast was simply the best I've ever tried. For those in search of a serene getaway, this inn is a perfect choice, a charming atmosphere that truly makes you feel at home.
Rooms: Our room was big, yet cozy, and comfortable. Didn't want to wake up!
Nearby activities: We did a scavenger hunt that was amazing, there are also great hikes in the area, but aside from the scavenger hunt, we stayed in and most read.
Safety: There are locks on all the rooms, and a key code lock to the main door outside, felt safe the entire time.
Food & drinks: Eggs, french toast, the orange juice! Everything was good.

We had an absolutely lovely weekend at Watergrasshill. The bones of the home are old and charming, while The Primrose Suite that we stayed in was well-updated and modern. Alana goes above and beyond as a host, cooking delicious breakfasts and ensuring the home is well appointed with amenities. The surrounding area is quiet but beautiful. Would recommend 10 times over to anyone visiting the area!

I have multiple experiences with Watergrasshill, and all of them have been wonderful! I first visited the B&B for an evening cooking class, which was very fun and delicious. We have since come to other workshops, including a ceramics class. My fiancé and I were so impressed with the B&B that we decided to have our engagement party in their barn. It was the perfect indoors-outdoors event in late September with beautiful views of the Shawangunks. While we didn't stay in the rooms, our guests did, and they raved about how comfortable and inviting they were. Alana's delicious breakfast is also top-notch! Whether you are coming for a cooking class, workshop, an event, or just a weekend getaway, I can't recommend this place enough!

We had a wonderful experience at the Watergrasshill B&B. Our room was spacious, clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. We happened to pick one of the coldest weekends of the year but the room was very warm. Our breakfast was delicious. There's coffee and a water cooler available anytime. Our host was very welcoming, the shared spaces were clean and inviting. It's a beautiful old farmhouse that has been well-maintained and updated. We would definitely visit again for our next New Paltz weekend. There is so much to see and do up there.

We spent two nights at this wonderful B&B. We stayed in the Primrose room. The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable and very quiet. Alana, the owner, is very kind, helpful, patiently answered all the questions my husband asked. Each morning we had a delicious home made breakfast. Highly recommend!!

The Watergrasshill B&B is an absolute gem in New Paltz. Alana, the owner, is attentive, friendly and a delight to see every morning! The house is beautiful and updated yet keeping the old charm throughout. Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a newly renovated bathroom. We stayed 2 nights during the weekend and enjoyed delicious breakfasts made by Alana. We definitely plan to stay here again when visiting friends in the area. The house is very close to the village and there is plenty to do and see in this beautiful town. The only suggestion I have is to provide fluffier pillows as the ones in our room were very flat! I usually bring my own pillow when traveling by car, but accidentally forgot it this time.

Nearby activities: close proximity to downtown New Paltz. lots of vineyards, apple orchards or if you just want to see some stunning views. can't wait to see this place during foliage season.

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful weekend at Watergrasshill Bed & Breakfast, and it was everything we hoped for. Tucked away in the Hudson Valley, the scenic views of rolling hills were nothing short of breathtaking.Upon entering, we were welcomed by a charming decor that felt both elegant and inviting. Our room was comfortable, and every detail was thoughtfully arranged to make us feel at home.But what stood out the most was the genuine warmth and attentiveness of the host, Alana. From the delicious breakfasts to personalized local recommendations, she went above and beyond to make our stay special.Watergrasshill is a true gem. I wholeheartedly recommend it for a serene and memorable getaway.

We LOVED our stay at Watergrasshill B&B! We reserved all 5 rooms for my sister's bachelorette retreat weekend and it was exactly that...a reTREAT! Alana was very kind, helpful and accommodating. Each morning we had a delicious homemade breakfast and all of the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. Alana also helped us organize a wonderful cooking class in her big, beautiful kitchen. A definite highlight of our weekend. Watergrasshill is also in a wonderful location with stunning views, a link to hiking trails and a short distance to the bustling streets of New Paltz.

Watergrasshill Bed & Breakfast is a charming and beautiful inn located in a tranquil and safe area. My room was nicely decorated and it had a modern/updated bathroom. The inn was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and sitting by the porch to read a book was such a relaxing experience. I truly recommend this place if you are looking for a peaceful accommodation. Alana prepared breakfast with utmost care and her exceptional service made this B&B experience wonderful.
