This funeral home is staffed by the nicest, most professional, most courteous and warmest people around. One of the funeral directors, Christine is amazingly kind, understanding and doesn't try to gouge or upsell anything when you're mourning. My family and I were treated with the utmost respect and care while we were grieving and numb. Christine saw to it that we were walked through everything and nothing was left to chance. We had other extended family here in the past and several family members of friends and coworkers were also taken here. It is also a very nice, well maintained and clean place. The interior is well decorated and has a cozy feel during the holiday season. It is classy inside and it smells very nice without it being overpowering. It was not at all creepy, run down and cold like some other places I've seen or looked at around the eastern Queens and western Long Island area. The price also beat the funeral homes nearby while the service and the funeral home were so much better.

While I don't often leave reviews, I felt compelled to write one for New Hyde Park Funeral Home in the hopes that this helps any other families going through the challenging time of having to plan services while experiencing lost. Having compassionate and attentive guidance can make such a difference and that's what we received from the staff here. John, the funeral director, made himself available whenever we had questions leading up to and even after the funeral. The home itself was warm and bright and had convenient parking, which were our biggest criteria initially when choosing a location. This proved to be the best decision for us because it gave us the opportunity to create a beautiful service that felt intimate, and family and friends could focus on honoring our mom without worrying about logistics. Grateful to John and the staff here.

I highly recommend NHPFH. At this time of sorrow, New Hyde Park Funeral Home has made my life easier and less painful putting together a funeral. This locally-owned facility gave me white-gloved service at a reasonable price. The place is clean, modern and bright with natural light, like a house with warmth. Even the parking lot has a waterfall to give a sense of serenity. Their attention to details is amazing. They treated my late sister with dignity and my family with sympathy and kindness. All staff were professional and respectful. They are knowledgable, prompt, and thorough, yet not pushy. Christine, John, Nicole, Lena, Larry, all the pallbearers, thank you for making my sister's funeral beautiful and warm. You helped us get closure. I highly recommend this funeral home to anybody for any size of funeral services.

This review is long overdue. My family and I worked with the New Hyde Park funeral home back in June, 2023 when our mom passed away. Every person that we dealt with was incredibly sympathetic and understanding. We were treated like family and they did an amazing job. We would highly recommend this funeral home.

When our mom left us, that day I was trying to remember the funeral I went to one time. I was telling my sister that we should get their service. So we decided to get them and they are very respectful to our mom and very professional. They even suggested what cemetery we should go and they were right, it was a nice location in Farmingdale. We were happy. The Funeral home made it easier for us to go to different things that we will need for our mom's service. They're like family to us, very respectful to our mom and to us. They made sure that everything will go smoothly for us especially. It's our first death in the family and they were a big part in going through this process of grieving. We didn't even have to bother about details, they said that they will take care of everything. From the viewing, to the burial mass and to the cemetery, everything was perfect, our relatives in the Philippines who saw the pictures said that it was really a nice service and we gave our mom the best love and respect. I'm sure mom is proud of us. Thank you and would highly recommend this funeral home.

New Hyde Park funeral home made this difficult time in our lives more frustrating than it should have been. My grandfather recently passed, and when I arrived for the wake, I was refused entry into his parlor by an older, slender gentleman with gray hair and glasses because apperantly I wasn't family enough. Then when asking the director the following day at the burial, she confirmed grandchildren are considered immediate family and that I should have been allowed in.The service at the burial was disrespectful, it looked like the priest just rolled out of bed. He tried to be funny when everyone was clearly not in the mood. I honestly can't imagine you're an experienced priest and act that way at a burial. Consistently mispronounced my grandmother's name (who has also passed), with everyone having to shout the proper name at him.The wake and burial setups were beautiful, but the people working at this funeral home could have been much more respectful of the situation, especially since you work at a funeral home...

My family had a Celebration of Life service on 1/22/2023 for my grandson. John Ciolko and a woman who worked there, did not get her name, could not have been more helpful or caring. We can't thank them enough. They made a painful time much easier.

It's a lovely, clean home with ample parking and conveniently located. The cost was very competitive with other homes in the area However, the most important thing are the people. John and his staff were helpful in all aspects of this difficult process. John Ciolko is an experienced, knowledgeable director. He was able to patiently explain the process and give us options and suggestions. His help was much appreciated. I would definitely recommend them should you have a need for a funeral home.

The NHP Funeral home made a very hard time as easy to handle as humanly possible. Christine, Nicole and all of the professional staff worked together seamlessly and handled every detail with the utmost precision, respect and professionalism.

I recently attended my uncle's funeral here. From what I heard from my aunt and my dad the planning process here was quite smooth. My interactions with the staff were positive as well. The ambiance of the funeral home was bright and uplifting with ample lighting and whites used throughout. Other elements were used for comfort as well. An impressive fish tank was in the main area. Lots of tropical and colorful fish. A fireplace was also in the main area and was tastefully decorated for the holidays. Outside there is a small water feature and plants in a meditation area. The salon set up was standard with a viewing area in front for the coffin and flower offerings and several rows of seats extending to the back. There also was a TV on the side to display any digital pictures. One unique feature here is that the front row of seats were sofa like chairs that were quite comfortable. This is great since the family could be sitting here for hours during a wake. They have a parking lot with about 20 spots, but if it is full there seemed to be plenty of parking in the surrounding neighborhood.

I attended two wakes at this location. The funeral home is easy to find and they have a good sized parking lot in back. There are Covid precautions in place: hand sanitizer bottles are available, and the rooms here are large enough to comfortably hold a good number of visitors. The staff are friendly and welcoming as you walk in. There are tissues available as well. In the other main section of the lobby they did decorate for the holidays. Christmas decorations are up in keeping with the season. It's tough to lose someone during the holidays but it's all kept classy and not overwhelmingly cheery. They do a good job providing that support and respect to each family. And if you just wanted a moment of peace by yourself, there is a large fish case filled with tropical fish (including a Nemo Clown Fish and a Dory Blue Tang fish). For someone grieving who wants to be by themselves for a moment, fish are excellent to be a silent friend: they provide a reminder that life is present and ever changing, and yet they are visual and do not require much interaction/energy from the griever. As they swim about gracefully, there is beauty and an uplifting peace the fish give out living their daily lives in the tank.
