The workers at this station are nasty and aggressive. There are other choices to go to where the employees are friendly. When you call the owner to discuss, he is also rude and a bully. I guess he trained his people well. Find another station to go to.

Someone I know told me this story about this sad excuse of a company.I was lost and needed to re-enter the address on my gps so I pulled into the gas station to do so. About a minute later the attendant came over to ask whether I needed help. I replied no, thank you I showed him my phone. He nodded and went back to his booth. Now the owner comes out screaming and banging on my window to drive way, I said ok as soon as I’m able to enter traffic as the cars were at a light. He continued on and on and would not stop saying that I’m blocking his pumps. I was literally far from the pumps and the gas station was completely empty. No cars were blocked nor did I block any of the pumps because I was in the area where cars usually wait for the mechanic. Now it’s clear why it was so empty. If that’s the way he treats people. I will never purchase gas there nor will anyone I know. I’m thinking of calling the police to register a complaint of assault.

Gene Spelman, the owner, is a very dishonest person who puts the all mighty dollar ahead of his customers. Total ripoff. Go elsewhere.

June 29 2023 @ 6:39am. I walk inside this gas station. Ask the cashier if they had any boxed chocolates. He said nothing just pointed to items behind me. I take a close look and they are all individually wrap cookies. Nothing that I want. I turn to him and stay. Okay thanks and walk away. I barely get into the car and he's knocking on my window. I get out of the car confused. He's says you asked snacks and walk out without buying. I said. What? I left because you don't have what I want. He then orders me to empty out my purse. I'm like are you kidding me. I'm on my way to surgery and was looking for a small gift for my Dr. He still is saying let me see. OMG. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. So I emptied out my entire Louis Vuitton bag on the floor. Telling him every item. Showing him every time. Here's my pee in a bag. My phone to call hubby after surgery. My surgery paperwork. My iPad to watch while I'm in the waiting room. My house key and lipgloss for I can't have any product my skin. The scarf on the head for I can't have a wig for I had lost all my hair due to my first brain aneurysm in Jan 2008. Btw Dr just found a 2nd second aneurysm. Operation on Jan 2024. Then turned my bag upside down shacking it. Then showed him the inside of it. This is crazy. Cashier - Indian man in his late 40's early 50's. 5ft 8. After a disgusting behavior from the cashier telling me stole items which I didn't for emptied out my Louis Vuitton bag to show him. Today again a called. Some rude person answered the phone. I said my name and politely asked for the owners name. Again he didn't tell me then hung up. This is crazy. I am absolutely disgusted.

RACIST CASHIER Cashier - ****** man in his late 40s early 50s. 5ft 8.On June 29 2023 at 6:45am. My husband had forgotten the box of chocolates at home for my OBGYN Dr. **** now back from maternity leave.I walk inside this gas station. Ask the cashier if they had any boxed chocolates. I told him I had an incident 2 days ago and would like to speak to the owner. He says the owner will be here tmrw. I ask for the owners name. The *************** up. I call back 5mins later. No answer.

Billboard show $4.659/ gal. Regular , cash or credit same price. I filled full take n paid by credit card. .when I reached home and looked at the receipt, billed at $4.839./ gal. They should have changed the billboard price.

Spelman Service Station (Now BP branded) has been a fixture in New Hyde Park for decades. Excellent full service fueling coupled with repair and maintenance services that are second to none. Fair, honest, on-time, and everyone is polite. They open early, and treat their customers well. These guys earn our trade with every visit. Recommended!

I will never purchase gas there nor will anyone I know. I will be sure to share this with my school board of NHP so that they can share it with all our parents and friends of my school community.
