I barely stepped foot in the store before someone asked if I needed help. I walked up to the first stand of books and another clerk came up to me and said "You look puzzled" I wasn't puzzled. I was reading titles. The clerk must not see humans in the store. Needless to say, I left quickly. No book bought but I spared myself continued harassment by store clerks who need customers

A smaller store that could make better use of its space.

I purchased two books...A very nice older gentleman took care of me after I walked out the day before. Two young ladies were working and were both more concerned with talking with each other, than helping customers in the store. I asked one question, they paused their conversation for a brief second with a two word answer and then picked up their conversation where they left off. I walked out. I wasn't going to give them credit for a sale. Those young ladies definitely cost B&N money, they're horrible.

Very friendly service and a surprising broad selection of books given the size of the store.

Friendly staff. I like that it's a smaller store. Feels more like a neighborhood book shop

I've visited this establishment on numerous occasions and was a past Rewards member. After my visit today, I will surely not be returning to extend my business and am returning the books purchased. I visited the store 15 minutes before closing and urgently tried to find what I was looking for. When I reached the cashier, I apologized for coming in late. Dimitrios, the cashier, relayed that it was fine; I still had a couple minutes. During this time, I had placed my phone down to pay, my transaction was complete, and I quickly grabbed my books and left the store. Seconds after stepping outside the store, I noticed my phone was still on the counter. I had two minutes before closing, but the door was already locked, and he refused to open it and had me wait outside for thirty minutes in the cold until he was ready to leave. This was completely unnecessary! Barnes and Nobles in New Hyde Park will no longer have my business, and I hope no one urgently has to be anywhere the next time this man decides to lock the doors minutes early and not allow the mere opening for his hand to reach out and hand someone their belongings.
