I have used R&M Landscaping for almost 20 years. Mitch ,Edgar ,Carlos and the rest of the crew are excellent. I have never had any issues and Mitch always responds to calls and stands behind his work. They have done lawn maintenance, pavers , drainage, new landscape, pruning , mulch for me and I would highly recommend them.

Mitch and his crew got the job done in 3 days. They did a spectacular job. Took down the entire front steps and walkway and replaced it with pavers and it looks great. Can’t believe I waited 20 years to do this.

Don't bother!! Had the owner come out to my property to give me a quote. Days went by and I never received one. I called him up to find out when I could expect it - guy seemed totally confused about what I was saying. Didn't know who I was/ what work I was talking about. Talk about being disorganized... Upon reminding him of the work to be done, he apologized and promised me a quote within a few days, AND also told me his crew would be coming out the next day to clean up my yard which I desperately needed. No one ever showed up, and 2 weeks later, I still have not received their quote! I tried calling them again, and no answer. Left them a voicemail - never heard back. Extremely unprofessional and unresponsive.

Mitch is the worst landscaper. Had the worst experience with him and got the county involved, and they forced him to finish the job. When I previously posted a review, he lied in a comment that he won in court against me. Of course, he never replied again when I posted the engineering report about his lousy work. He does lousy work, tries to gouge you for more money to remediate it and then lies to everyone to cover his mistakes. LOOK ELSEWHERE!Services: Landscape installations

This company did a phenomenal job on my front porch and walkway! It was a mess...a professional job well done from from the owner Mitchell to the two gentlemen that did repair and replacement of the stones. Would highly recommend. Kelly & Ray Castel

Mitch does a fantastic job landscaping my property! He is always readily available if I have a questions or to discuss projects. He and his crew just completed stone pavers and steps leading to my deck. He completed the job on time and did a fantastic job. I would recommend Mitch to anyone looking for a landscaping company.

Mitch and his team did an AMAZING job removing an old and damaged blacktop driveway and installing a beautiful new gravel driveway lined with pavers and a Belgian block skirt. There were a few tricky elements to the job and Mitch was immediately responsive to our needs. The team left the jobsite in immaculate condition. Pricing was very fair given the quality of the work and the attention to detail. Anybody looking to do a similar job in Rockland should be sure to give Mitch a ring.

The man who runs this business is the rudest human being I have ever met in my life. He broke me down to tears in his office. I highly suggest doing business with ANYONE else.

Mitch Taylor, who does business as R & M, was the worst individual I have ever done business with. He was hired to put in a patio using pavers in 2008. The job was completed but he never cared about drainage issues. When the patio wall was spewing water and I now had a pool in the middle of my patio (because he decided to dig up half the pavers and refused to put them back in place) this con artist tried to get another $3000.00 out of me to fix the problem he created. The local consumer affairs department (CA) looked into my complaint against the guy and brought in an engineer. The engineer then wrote an extensive report which found a host of problems with the work performed. Mitch Taylor then decided to argue for several more months while my backyard and patio looked like a disaster film. When CA finally got him to fix the issues he became belligerent in the attempt to get me to throw him off my property. I did, but CA told him to finish the job. Needless to say it was a total relief to get the job finally finished after TWO years and I still don't trust the quality of his work. I can back this up with an engineer's report and numerous pictures. I found out later that this guy has been sued and lost several thousand dollars in court. End result - you take your chances if you hire this guy because he claims he doesn't fear court and he obviously doesn't fear county agencies. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!!!! Update: I posted this review on Angie's List and Mitch Taylor responded by posting that I lost at consumer affairs. Apparently he can't tell the truth. How could I "lose" when consumer protection forced him to complete the work. I have posted the Engineer's report requested by the Consumer Affairs office.

Worst landscaper ever, DO NOT HIRE. We hired them for a couple simple backyard projects that turned into the most frustrating experience. They were supposed to extend our usable backyard by adding fill to the back of our property, connect our gutter drains to pipes and run it out to the back and extend our patio. 1--The problems started with the patio. First time they laid it there was such a severe pitch (11" difference from one end to the other) that it was unusable, not to mention that the pitch was in the direction of our house so all the water would've drained under our deck towards our basement. The second time they they laid it the pitch was the same but in the other direction, it wasn't squared to our house and they forgot the border. It took a THIRD time for them to get it right and my husband had to set the pitch for them! (Should not happen if you have 30 yrs landscaping experience). Then they did the fire pit area and that had to be redone as well because the circular cuts around there fire pit were so bad they looked like they were done by a kindergartener learning how to use scissors. They're still not great but we gave up. 2--when they connected our leader drains to pipes they had them jut out from the house at such a crazy angle we had to have them redo that as well. 3--they brought in a ton of fill for the back but it was loaded with construction debris and garbage (literally) and he never communicated with the guy who was supposed to push it to the back. So the guy just came and spread it out over our back yard and not towards the back where it was supposed to go. Then they brought in top soil (not sifted) and by the time we were able to talk to someone about putting the dirt where it was needed they just ended up pushing the topsoil to the back and not grading it like promised. We were left with a backyard LOADED with rocks and broken glass and a back end that dropped off short of what we talked about and so steep it's not mowable! 4--they had to build a tree well around one of the trees we wanted to save but it was so poorly done that we've since been told the tree won't survive. They put in no drainage system, no gravel and it's totally asymmetrical (2ft away from the tree on one side and like 5-6ft away from the tree on the other. It's an eyesore. OVERALL--just a disaster. I'm attaching some pictures so you can see I'm not exaggerating. Of note: in the picture of the patio, the camera is straight--that is how sloped the patio was.
