In reference to the post titled a "disappointing experience " refers to a unit I had rented. I found this facility most helpful and accommodating and perfectly secure. MS D Van Houten had no business with this company and at no point did she pay for nor have access for said unit. This same woman has also been slandering others. Please take this into consideration and don't hesitate to rent a unit from them.

Title: A Disappointing Experience: Lack of Transparency and Security Measures at Monticello Storage CompanyI recently had a deeply troubling experience at Monticello Storage Company, which compels me to share this review to shed light on the concerning lack of transparency and security measures I encountered during my interactions with them.In July 2022, my siblings engaged in improper conduct, using fraudulent tactics to gain access to my late father's estate. They misrepresented his residency to the court, allowing them to access my personal belongings, which were subsequently moved to Monticello Storage without the necessary ancillary orders from New York.Upon gaining control of the estate in New York and securing a court-appointed administrator in March 2023, it came to light that my brother had circumvented the correct procedures by placing the storage unit under his wife's name instead of the estate's name. Shockingly, just two weeks after the court's decision, my brother's wife, under whose name the unit was registered, instructed the storage company to dispose of the contents without attempting to contact any other interested party. This abrupt disposal has caused immense distress, given that the unit contained items of significant sentimental and financial value, including over $30,000 worth of tools and property that were removed from my father's residence in Monticello.Recently, my sister informed our estate administrator that Monticello Storage had recklessly disposed of the contents without even taking inventory, claiming that the items were mere clothes, as per the storage company's account. This cavalier approach by the storage company further compounds our concerns regarding their professionalism and responsibility. In an attempt to seek clarity and information about this distressing situation, I visited the storage facility today. Unfortunately, my interaction with the office staff, particularly Jacklyn, was disheartening. Jacklyn was unable to provide any substantial information or address my concerns, and to my dismay, she declined to provide her full name, raising doubts about the transparency and professionalism of the establishment.Adding to my dismay, the storage company refused to disclose their standard rental contract and security protocols. This lack of transparency raises serious questions about their customer service standards. In my opinion, such crucial policies should be readily accessible to the public to ensure customers are well-informed about the terms and procedures in place.Furthermore, I find it deeply concerning that Monticello Storage only retains video feeds for a mere two weeks. In my view, maintaining video footage for a significantly longer duration, ideally two months, is vital to enhance security, accountability, and dispute resolution. My overall experience with Monticello Storage Company has been nothing short of disappointing, primarily due to the lack of transparency, uncooperative staff, and inadequate security measures. I sincerely hope this review emphasizes the pressing need for improved transparency and heightened security protocols within the storage industry.

Prices seem to be going up more often than ever lately. I started off around $70 a month for a small unit, that very same unit is now $120 a month. May have to find another place soon. Don't mind price increases if you actually get some kind of upgrade for it, but this is getting ridiculous !

This mini-storage is supposed to be an "official" drop-off location for UPS. I went there today to drop off a package with a pre-paid label -- a return item to an online retailer (a pair of shoes). They said there would be a $2.00 service charge to drop it off! I called UPS to complain (and was told some locations charge for drop offs!) Unbelievable!!! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE FOR ANYTHING. Since the Staples store closed near the Home Depot, there is now no other place to drop off packages except in Honesdale, PA (in the next state). And now this place charges $2 per package! I think perhaps these folks are scamming the public.
