“End of Long Island end of the road beginning of the Atlantic Ocean. Montauk Yacht Club sits on Star Island overlooking the marina and there is a specific moment when you pull in after the two and a half hour drive from the city the air changes your shoulders drop and you realize you are finally breathing. That is what this place gives you. The property is classic East End not flashy Hamptons not trying to impress. Just boats water sunset and some of the best seafood on the island. The cocktails at the bar are strong and the bartender knows how to read a room. I have sat out on the deck watching fishing boats come in at golden hour and it is the most New York thing you can do while feeling a million miles from New York. The rooms are clean and comfortable nothing over the top just exactly what you need after a day on the water. The restaurant does a solid lobster roll and the raw bar is always fresh. Montauk has gotten more popular over the years and some of that old fishing village charm is fading but the Yacht Club still holds onto it. This is where the island exhales. No velvet ropes no guest lists no attitude. Just salt air cold drinks and the sound of the ocean doing what it has done forever. Everyone needs a place like this. Montauk is mine.”
