I met Dr. Paul Schwartz and his time at a very unfortunate time. My 2 year old cat had a myriad of health problems that were undiagnosed and in their late stages. After many trips to the emergency room without many answers, a passing vet tech in one of the hospitals recommended me this office.I have lived in Europe and NYC and in between, and have had so many vets take care of my babies. There is no vet or office that comes anywhere close to the empathy, professionalism and care I received here. They did not know me or my baby, and they went above and beyond to treat him until his last breath. In this terrible time, I know that I (Well, the doctors and techs) did absolutely everything possible for him. When the end came, I simply could not thank them all enough for everything. I will continue to take my other cat here. I trust them so much. You will find the utmost respect, empathy and amazing care possible with Dr. Schwartz and his team. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

CVC is a fully equipped veterinary hospital, with first rate vets. Still owned by Dr. Schwartz, not private equity (unlike many area practices), they will do after hours emergency calls if you are a client. I've trusted three dogs with life threatening illnesses to them, and they've gotten top of the line care. I really think they are some of the vets in the nation, notcjust Dutchess County. They are also not the most expensive out there (heartworm treatment $1,000-$1500, vs some other vets charging $3000). I also appreciate the clear and thorough way Dr. Schwartz explains things. Highly, highly recommend.

If you want cutting edge veterinary care, in a sophisticated, fully equipped vet center, CVC is your practice. They have equipment other practices don't (eg an ultrasound) so your pet doesn't get referred out. Furthermore, according to my friend who's also a small animal vet, Dr. Schwartz is the best surgeon in the area. Finally, Dr. Schwartz combines caring and empathy with a razor sharp intelligence. He does talk fast, but he lays out what's happening, and why he's recommending a certain treatment, clearly and concisely. I adore his bedside manner. I believe he is head and shoulders the best vet in the area, and one of the best in the country.

Dr Paul Schwartz is the best Veterinarian I know. He saved my 3 year old Yorkies life when another vet wanted to put her down. Paul gave me another 10 yrs with my dog. Another poster claimed that this group lacked compassion for older animals, nothing could be further from the truth!!Dr Paul and Dr Kim have taken care of three of my dogs for the last thirteen years. The admin staff and the vet techs are all very much on point always. The best possible care for your animals are in their hands. If your animal is at the end of life they will handle that for you with the utmost compassion, they will also be straight forward and never let any animal suffer needlessly. These guys are the best in the business....... Love all of youRob, Tille, Abigail & Freddie Mercury

The vets and assistants were very good until my pet lived long enough to be in her older years. Gradually I noticed a change of attitude in both the veterinarians and the front office employees.By the time my pet lived to be 14 years old, I would come for a routine appointment, be ignored by the frontoffice receptionist for 15 minutes or more while she yakked on the phone with a friend and then get so-so attention from the vet.It was inexcusable.I have two more pets now and and happy to spend mymoney elsewhere. Not recommended for people with older pets.

There is NO BETTER!!! On every single level!! All the smart, kind folks at CVC check every single box. Four months after our 13 year old soulmate Shihtzuh, was lovingly and empathetically put to sleep by Dr. Paul Schwartz we know that we had borrowed atleast 5-6 more years with our beloved dog, thanks to the genius of Dr Schwartz, Dr Roelke and the gang @ CVC. And not extra sickly years but BONUS well lived years. We were profoundly impressed through the whole journey with hearts filled with immense gratitude.

In the past month I've had to go to the Center for Veterinary Care twice for emergencies. One was for a very sick stray that collapsed on my doorstep that I'm taking care of and will be finding a home for. The other was for my elderly 19 year old cat who had a sudden stroke and had to be put to sleep because blood clots caused her paralysis in her back leg. They were able to help me with emergencies both times when I called seven other places that couldn't. Even my regular visiting vet was backlogged and couldn't come. I thought they have a very caring staff and they were able to accommodate me with some issues. The only problem I have is they are the most expensive Veterinary around. They charge a lot more for a visit fee then the veterinarians I normally go to. the area that they are in they can charge those fees because I'm guessing usually people that have a lot of money or come up from the city use them for Veterinary Care. I would definitely recommend dr. Schwartz and doctor roelke. I had Dr. Roelke years ago in an emergency when I had a cat have a seizure. I found her very caring also. I found doctor Schwartz talked to me and explained things to me and didn't talk at me. I've been taking care of feral cats and stray cats for 22 years so I have an understanding of a lot of things. I appreciate when veterinarians or doctors don't talk down to you.
