Did not call to let us know that they were closed because of a plumbing emergency. We had a reservation made 10 days earlier. Drove 35 minutes each way. Worst of all they said they called when I complained, but when I asked what number they admitted they did not. Btw it was an anniversary. Sigh.

Best date night spot in the 845. Food is incredible, atmosphere couldn't be cozier, and service is outstanding. Shoutout to the bartender - best Manhattan and last word! Love you, canoe hill!!

Love. Great food. Inventive drinks. Nice staff. Crowded bar but tight passage to the dining area when the bar is full. Otherwise a great place.

I dropped by on my way home from Millerton. This place is super cute on the inside. I sat at the bar and was quickly attended to. I had a mixed drink which was delicious (and mighty strong!) and then had a beer. Great drink and beer selection. They also had an oyster special so I had a few. They were delicious!

Exceptionally cute / Wes Anderson-esq vibes from this gem. The impressive organic wine list and cocktail menu makes for a great start followed by the carefully curated food menu. The clam chowder is an absolute treat (as a native Bostonian that's high praise), the wedge was fresh and terrific, and the brown butter polenta as rich and tasty as the name suggests. Dessert was the chocolate pots de crème and a scoop of gelato - decadent without being overwhelming. Throughout it all the service was absolutely top notch resulting in a superlative experience I hope to repeat in short order!

We had such a nice time here. Food and service were excellent! Staff is super knowledgeable about the wine which I think is so important and we appreciated all their suggestions. Would highly recommend and love to go back!

Had such a fun time over at Canoe Hill on Saturday! Toned down lighting and staff that know exactly when to chat with you and when to let you be. O, did I mention the phenomenal original cocktails? Superb!

We went for the Monday night burger special. Which did not disappoint!Bartender, wait staff all excellent.Cozy ambiance. The bar & restaurant were very busy as the whole town came out for the burgers!Only problem? It's too loud. Ok, the bar was very noisy. But the music was way too loud in this little place. Needs to be adjusted. Hard to hear our conversation.

Small, intimate location with great cocktails, fantastic cuisine, and very personable service. I highly recommend the strip steak. The chimichurri on the side is a game changer. Definitely coming back again for

We dined here on a lovely summer evening and enjoyed every minute of it (except for the yellow jackets!). We were walk-ins, arriving early (around 5) and were immediately accommodated with a table on the patio. It was a bit small for five of us plus toddler, but the servers were quick to keep our table cleared of any empty plates and glasses. Great service all around! More important was the food, and we were delighted with our meals. We began with appetizers--shishito peppers, caponata, marinated olives, all of which were wonderful and nicely presented. The cocktail menu was creative and extensive, and the wine selection by the glass was limited but very good. We chose as entrees a wonderful pork chop, accompanied with pickled peppers and Swiss chard (a wonderful pairing, and the pork was tender and moist), a grilled branzino (wonderfuul presentation, topped with chimichurri), roasted chicken spiced with Calabrian chiles, and steamed mussels (an appetizer ample enough for an entree). Excellent choices all around. The only drawbacks were the yellow jackets that were eager to sample our food, and the small table that meant for some close quarters. It would have been nice to have a high chair provided, or a table that could accommodate a child's seat. Beyond that, we were immensely pleased with Canoe Hill; we loved the attentive and personal service, and the food was exceptional. We'd love to return!

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant and called to make a reservation for 4 people on a Saturday evening. I was told that they only take reservations online. I politely asked if she could take my reservation over the phone since I had called, but was very rudely told that I could not do that and had to go through Resy. Well I tried to do that, and thought I did make a reservation for 4 people at 7:15 on that Saturday evening. The process of making a reservation through this site was a bit confusing to me but it was the ONLY way to make a reservation. This restaurant actually deters you from making a reservation by stating that walk ins are suggested, and you will be charged a $25.00 per person cancellation fee. We did not want to drive from Poughkeepsie to Millbrook with a party of 4 on a Saturday night without making a reservation. Being a restaurant owner for many years, I’m well aware of busy weekends. We walked into the restaurant a half hour before our 7:15 reservation to have a drink at the bar, and was rudely told that we didn’t have a reservation. The bartender remembered talking to me that afternoon, telling me she couldn’t take the reservation over the phone and that I had to book it online. I told her that I thought that I did that. She said I did not and that it was not her fault that now we were without a table. Very RUDE. I honestly thought that I made the reservation picking the date, time, and number of people in our party; then clicking the confirm button. I thought that was it, but I guess there was more to it. It’s like filling out an application and you have to put your credit card info there so they could charge you the $25 for canceling. I should have known that if it was this hard to make a reservation that it wasn’t worth it, and then to be treated so rudely by staff was even worse! I couldn’t even think of treating people like this. I don’t know how they stay in business with that attitude. Shame on them.

Having never been to the area, we booked based on the recommendations of our AirB&B host. Unfortunately, everyone else we met suggested other places and we didn't listen! The atmosphere is interesting .. they sat us at an end table. No, not at the End of a Table.. a little round end table! lol a little odd but maybe they were expecting a late crowd?? (It never came by the way.) The food menu is limited and not what you see online. The chef seems to be trying really hard to create something unique which is admirable. I wish him luck because he didn't find it yet. After much deliberation, we settled on a couple of cheeseburgers.. safe options that no one messes up .. well challenge accepted. We had to have special permission to order anything but medium rare .. and then they came out medium rare .. when we sent them back, the waitress was generally offended. When they came back a second time, they were a little better but still red. We could feel the eyes of every food snob that worked there judging us. It actually got uncomfortable as our waitress wrote us off as unworthy of any additional attention. Alas, we paid our $200 bill for raw hamburgers, a shared salad and some drinks and took our food shame out to the car. :-(.
