We made the switch from another veterinary practice about two years ago. Our oldest dog is a rescue/vet reactive, and although he's only 30 lbs we were told he would have to be put under anesthesia for every appointment going forward at our previous vet. This seemed excessive, expensive and unnecessary. My co-worker told me that he made the switch to Middletown Veterinary with his vet reactive dog, so we thought we'd try. Our last visit, our dog only cried once. My husband was so proud, he talked about it for days. Our other dog and cat are easy at the vet but are provided with great care as well. Every person who works there is so kind. Thank you Middletown Veterinary!

RUDE, JUDGEMENTAL, COLD AND DISMISSIVE VET. RUDE VET TECH. INEPT RECEPTIONIST. POOR COMMUNICATION WITHIN THIS OFFICE. THIS FACILITY DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER SUPPLIES TO CARE FOR MY PUPPY AND CHARGED ME A $126 EXAM FEE. I adopted a puppy with a broken leg. The puppy had a cast on her leg that was put on at a local emergency hospital. I went to Middletown Veterinary Hospital about 2 1/2 weeks after the puppy's cast was put on. When I made the same day appointment, I explained that I had a puppy in a cast that needed follow-up care, specifically for the broken limb and I forwarded the x-rays from the emergency vet, as requested. In the exam room, I was given a price estimate for vaccines by the Vet Tech. I respectfully declined the vaccines at that time, stating that I understood the importance, but I came specifically to follow up about the broken limb. I was told by the vet tech that it is the LAW for a dog to have a rabies vaccine and that the Vet will discuss this further. The Vet stated that they could not do the follow up because they did not have "casting materials" in stock and could not x-ray the puppy with the cast on. So, the cast would have to be removed for the x-ray and if the limb was still broken, they could not recast it. I told them that since they couldn't do the follow-up, I didn't need to be there because the puppy needed a follow up for the broken limb and that was the purpose for our visit. The Vet apologized for the "miscommunication" and stated that they did not know what this appointment was for. I explained that I specifically stated the purpose for the visit and even sent the x-rays. The Vet told me that she was in the middle of the exam and I would have to pay for the time slot anyway. I told her to continue the exam and that I respected her time. She replied that I did not really appear to respect her time at all. I explained again that I specifically stated what the purpose of this visit was when I made the appointment. I expressed that I was concerned about the puppy and the length of time she has been in the cast with no follow up care. I explained that I recently took ownership of the puppy and had no way to get her to a follow-up appointment sooner. The Vet said "Sorry, for the miscommunication" and then as she was leaving the exam room the Vet said, "GOOD LUCK". I paid $126 for the vet to examine the puppy and take her temperature.

The most rudest office I have seen on such a long time . I walked into be told “ he can’t be in here “ meaning my son , NOT my jod … that should have been my first red flag . Then my dog has been here for 9 years , these are all new people . The doctor was so rude , he told me to put the muzzle on my dog . My dog did not show signs of aggression. He’s a old boy .. wagging his tail listening to all my commands but didn’t allow me to put the muzzle on . After 5 minutes he told me “ we are done here!” I’m shocked !!!!! I am so Shocked !!!!! Terrible

Yesterday my girls(Hannah and Hazel) had their shots, physical and nails clipped. Dr Ruller and staff truly are amazing people. They are so very gentle, loving and amazing at what they do. My girls are not the easiest when it comes to Vet Visits and every single person who came in contact with them gushed over them and treated them as if they were their own. We love you all and Hannah and Hazel thank you for being so sweet to them. ❤❤ We HIGHLY recommend Middletown Veterinary Hosiptal.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I wouldn't recommend going to this vet unless you want to be treated like a cash cow. I had just brought my older dog in for a physical (he has a heart murmur) because he was showing signs of an upper respiratory infection. Doctor just prescribed him a cough suppressant. My younger dog then started showing the same signs. The vet diagnosed my younger dog with kennel cough and gave her both a cough suppressant and antibiotics. When I asked if I could have antibodies for my other dog, who had the same symptoms and had just been seen, they refused and asked me to bring my dog in AGAIN. When I asked what the visit was for they said they wanted to give him ANOTHER physical. He had just had a physical a couple of days ago and both my dogs are showing the same symptoms.
