BUYER BEWARE. CLAIMED THEY CHANGED PART WHICH THEY DID NOT. NO RECOURSE IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG. Merrick Auto Hospital was owned by Jimmy until a couple of years and is now managed by a guy named Andy. My SUV engine light came on and my SUV was not running right and was vibrating and made a humming sound. Merrick Auto Hospital told me the issue was an oil sensor and replaced it and charged me $100. Engine light came on again a day later and took car again and was told it was the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch which Merrick Auto Hospital claimed they replaced and charged me another $200. Engine light came on a third time again with the same issue. Took to Merrick Auto Hospital a 4th time and was told that the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch that they installed was potentially bad and was told the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch was replaced again. Merrick Auto Hospital advised it was likely the transmission and tried to upsell me on a transmission replacement. Engine light came on again the next day with the same issue as before. After going to Merrick Auto Hospital 4 times and being charged $300 for the same issue, I took car to the Honda Dealer and Honda said that the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch was not previously replaced. The Honda Dealer replaced the part that was not replaced by Merrick Auto Hospital and the car worked fine with no issues. Honda provided me the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch part which was the original part and had not been replaced as Merrick Auto Hospital represented. In addition, the Honda Dealer picked up on a Major Safety Issue as they replaced 2 bad wheel bearings that made the humming sound and worn bushings that caused a clicking sound which I previously asked Merrick Auto Hospital to look into and they said it was nothing. Merrick Auto Hospital did not pick up on Major Safety Issues even after supposedly looking at the car on 6 separate occasions. Since Andy does not own the repair shop, BEWARE BECAUSE IF THERE ARE ISSUES THERE IS NO RECOURSE. I asked station attendant and he gave me the number of an overall manager that overseas Andy. Overall Manager didn't get back to me and gave my number to a part time book keeper who called me. I presented the evidence of the Honda receipt that indicated that Merrick Auto Hospital did not replace the part they claimed they did and the picture of the part that showed that Merrick Auto Hospital did not replace the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch they claimed to replace and replaced an oil sensor they did not have to replace. Even when presented with this evidence the bookkeeper refused to provide an explanation of what occurred, called me a liar and otherwise blew me off. Merrick Auto Hospital did not do the work that I authorized and that they claimed they did as they did not replace the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch. The Honda Dealer confirmed they did not replace the 3rd Clutch Pressure Switch. Since Andy does not own Merrick Auto Hospital, you have no recourse if something goes wrong. My experience showed they didn't complete the services they claimed they did. They tried to upsell me on an expensive transmission issue when if they simply diagnosed the engine light code and replaced the part that the engine light diagnosed, the car would have been fixed. In addition, they did not pick up on Major Safety Issues. They don't stand behind their work.

Friendly owner but subpar services. The few times I went to this place I always ended up paying more because my car was misdiagnosed and not fixed properly. The owner will give you the runaround and not stand by their work. Will never go back to this place.

Perhaps they are under new ownership, but I had all four brakes and all four tires replaced last year (Jan. 2018), which, needless to say, was quite expensive. Less than a year later, my right rear brake pad is COMPLETELY worn down, which should not happen in under a year (and less than 10,000). Brought it to my local shop, turns out that Merrick Auto Hospital put the part that holds the brake pads to the rotors on completely BACKWARDS and therefore the senor never sent the signal to my car to distribute the braking, and wore through the pad totally prematurely. I am now out the money for a near set of rear brakes because of their negligence.

Untrustworthy mechanics.they tell one you thing then later the tell you a different thing. Took them about 1-2 weeks to replace a turbo in a car. I provided then with all the part. In addition they damaged the hood latch and left it on the floor. They prefer cash over crrt cards.

Best place to take your car if you want a good honest mechanic. Jimmy and his crew are the best and the most honest mechanics I know. They are up front with what work they did and the problems they find and will not charge you for unnecessary work as other mechanics do. If you want the job done right, with a reliable honest mechanic you can trust, then you need to take your car here.

I've been using this shop for my oil changes and brakes. They shop has always been great. I've recently been bringing a car that has some noises and the owner and mechanics have been very helpful in troubleshooting. Its one thing to bring your car in and the counter guys is helpful. Its another when he has a terrific crew to carry out. Great team here!
