This is crazy... For 2022 tax refund! I am STILL waiting! Due to the error of tax agent, I had to go through AMEND. It was filed on 4/14/2023, finally applied on 12/15/2023. H & R block told me it only can be done by check, not auto transfer. Then my check got stolen! (Ok, stolen check was not their fault.) BUT where I am upset is H&R block is WAY MORE expensive than any other tax service. I asked them why and they say it's because they are reliable and open all year around. WHICH IS LIE! I called this branch to check up my return status, NEVER returned my call once. The return is close to $3,000. It might be small money to someone but it's definitely NOT small refund for me. I NEED IT.
If they will charge double than other small tax places since they are so reliable - this shouldn't have been done. this is almost 2 years later, I am still waiting. errrrr.

Tax preparer did not advise of fees (which were excessive ) prior to starting computer input ... which took over an hour .. these fees are the equivalent for a CPA...tax preparer was advised that the tax returns have always been sent via U.S. Mail . She did not inquire & it was worked up as electronically filed . No communication. I do not recommend anyone to get their taxes prepared there.

When went to that office had the impression of that person do not have knowledge of preparing taxes, also wrote different ssn in the system, when I said it is not my information she said "it's just for practice" also has my phone # under other name, she refused to do my report, so not profesional?.

Have been using H & R Block's services for a several years now. Always pleasant, professional and courteous staff at the Maspeth Brand Avenue office. My taxes are always accurate and if I have any questions they are answered so that I have a good understanding of the situation.
