Its a nice gym, but the dissonant, somewhat disturbing music they play in the locker rooms makes me want to avoid the gym altogether. I figure corporate has them do this to push people along quickly through their shower routine but it really just makes me want to quit Equinox and join the YMCA

This place is very expensive.... I don't do classes, so that has no value to me. If you do a global pass (more than one club) it is even more crazy expensive. What you get as a gym at Equinox in this area is an upscale, well kept, clean club. Minus the classes that I don't use - I would say the Planet Fitness I go to out of the area is equivalent (minus the fact PF doesn't have free-weight barbell benches) - and costs literally 10$ a month. But - we are in this area so with that said :The other 'chain' gyms in the area are literally -5/10 with the likes of Crunch, LA Fitness (PC), with Planet Fitness (WP) at a 3/10. I gave LA and PF a shot here locally, and belonged to Crunch for some 6 months now. If you tried to make a gym that was horrible - learn some things from them. They've thought of screwed up things you won't (Crunch: would you think of toilets overflowing with no attempt to deal with it - I doubt it). Then (at Crunch specifically) add in the 'members' yapping on phones, lounging on what equipment isn't broken, filming each other on the gym floor and bathroom (which is a joke in itself given the photo subjects), and leaving everything everywhere including gargbage. There only reason there isn't more garbage is you can't find any paper towels as they run out. There are plenty of employees - but that's a whole downstairs social club. The one thing you won't need to worry about is the English labguage. None spoken.

I hate scamming businesses that make it difficult to cancel. Equinox is apparently one of these sleazy gyms that handcuff members to the treadmill. I moved out of state and wanted to cancel. I called and was told I can't simply cancel by phone or email (why not?) and that I would have to speak to a manager who would be calling me in the next day or two. Several weeks later still no call. When I looked online I discovered that policies that make cancellation or freezing membership difficult for customers have a long history at Equinox. For example, a 2014 class action suit addressed this issue.

Very nice place- I can’t share too many details bc I haven’t worked out there yet. I’m excited to take the classes bc Equinox always offered the best classes. (I’m a repeat customer) I’ll keep you posted.

Great gym, friendly reception staff, great membership team and facilities. The classes are always great, Matt's conditioning class is amazing on a Sunday, Rachel and Jess are the best spin instructors, Dante is incredible for the Monday boxing. I also want to call out the clean and maintain teams as the place is always clean and spotless and they work really hard and are fantastic! much cleaner and better service than most other gyms.

Great Facility, have plenty of heavy weights, love the showers, steam room & of course eucalyptus towels. If money is not an issue definitely a nice gym with great staff. Shoutout to Jenna, for making my experience here so pleasant.

Good gym but often over charge, double charge, or other issues with fees & payments. For $173 a month, you’d think they would respect the amount customers are paying and not try and get more out of them.

I wouldn't trust this gym. I've previous had a great experience with Equinox, at NY Sports Club in UWS.Mamaroneck though? Really bad customer service. They charged me for Personal Training sessions I did not use, on a card that I no longer check as it was on my old UWS account. They then charged the wrong card again, and didn't refund after not using free sessions.Terrible experience, and they basically store $240 from my pocket. As for the gym experience itself, it's about par but your paying extra. The 10mins it takes me to drive to LifeTime gym in Harrison has been well worth it every morning. Much better service and vibe. I would recommend checking it out.
