Wish I could give this pharmacy negative 10 starts. Horrible customer service, the employees are rude and not compassionate at all. They NEVER answer a phone call...ever. I've spent over an hour on hold and nobody bothers to pick up. I've transferred my prescriptions out of this horrible pharmacy. Beware of CVS Carmel

Don't do it to yourself. Unless you enjoy wasting countless hours standing In line only to be greeted by rude and inept staff. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Today was the last straw for me.

I was prescribed an antibiotic for an injury. Prior to picking up my prescription, I googled the medication and this is what it said...Ciprofloxacin may increase the blood levels of atorvastatin. This can increase the risk of side effects such as liver damage and a rare but serious condition called rhabdomyolysis that involves the breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue. In some cases, rhabdomyolysis can cause kidney damage and even death. I am currently taking Atorvastatin. After paying for the medication, I asked the pharmacist if those medications can be taken together because I don't believe everything I read on the internet and he said yes, just take them a couple of hours apart. He didn't even look in the computer first. When I got home and read the bottle of Cipro, it said STOP ATORVASTATIN FOR 10 DAYS WHILE TAKING THIS MEDICATION. If I had listened to the pharmacist, and not read the bottle, I could have gotten really sick. Word of advice pharmacist...if you're not sure of the answer, just say "I'm not sure" then look it up in the computer that is 3 feet away from you. I have lost complete trust in CVS pharmacists.

Today, I was discriminated against at this pharmacy in a major way. I was on vacation down the Jersey Shore, and was due for a refill of my pain medication on 8/10 used to treat a spinal condition. I have just started a new job, and obtained new insurance. Apparently, I had needed a prior authorization, and the pharmacist there stated she could only fill for 7 days until prior authorization was completed. I said no problem, and asked what I needed to do to fill for the month. They said to have my doctor call and send a new prescription for the remainder to my home pharmacy, so that is what I did. The CVS app said to pick up on 8/14, so this is what I did. I was told they were working on it,and come back in 15 minutes. I come back, and they say wait let me check the computer. The pharmacist in way behind the counter shouts "You picked up at another location" "it doesn't say anywhere you can pick up on 8/14" "it's too early to refill". I wasn't sure what I had done wrong as i was only doing what I was told, and I have. usually gotten the month supply. She made a chronic pain patient feel like an addict or something. I have worked in healthcare for 15 years, and would never treat a patient like this. I attend all my appointments, take my medication as prescribed. I will absolutely not be made to feel bad about an ailment I have. I have written to corporate today as well.

I love this store! Always have what I need and store staff is always very helpful. The pharmacy staff are saints!!! They work tirelessly to get every customer completed and on time with their prescription needs. They are unfortunately way under staffed and still, with each of them.working long, thankless hours, manage to get my scripts filled on time. Anne Marie and Kristiana are ACES and always are on top of my orders. Once you take the time to appreciate the pharmacy staff and get to know them and they learn who you are, they are truly a delightful group. And I love the fact that a few of them are blunt with their replies to some questions and concerns I may have from time to time . I rather the blunt honesty opposed to being pacified with b.s. CVS Pharmacy in Mahopac gets 5 from me and my family of 6. Bravo to you all!!! The Cirelli FamilyMahopac, NY

a patient and the pharmacist is screaming at each other and both are threatening to call the cops. The patient was being a jerk and the pharmacist has her usual horrible attitude. A manager smoothed the situation and the patient leaves and the pharmacist proceeds to talk so the WHOLE store can hear how he is a drug addict and does this every 3 months and she will call the cops the next time ........ now I get the patient could be at fault but you as the pharmacist are openly calling him a drug addict speaking about him, his medications, and violating HIPPA in front of multiple people and being allowed to by the manager ..... wonder if anyone at cvs stops to think their horrible attitudes are why people treat them so bad. Just can't anymore transferring everything out of this hole

Close its doors. That would be the best solution. I have always been a supporter of CVS but over the past few years it is a nightmare when having to go there. I've been transitioning my prescriptions to Stop and Shop pharmacy. The aisles are ALWAYS filled with displays, boxes, overflow from the shelves ends up on the floors. No way you can maneuver a shopping cart through them. With a couple of exceptions they don't maintain their employees. Lines go in circles because on a good day there might be someone to check you out but more than likely you'll find someone standing next to the self checkouts to help YOU check yourself out. I'd bet 85 percent of customers need assistance. The pharmacy lines are always long. The line runs down one of the busiest isles in the store. And then, I sware, right in the middle of your pick up they pull the grates down and close for lunch. What do working people do, go do errands during their lunch times only to find the pharmacy is closed for twenty minutes. Today was the ultimate smack in the face. Standing two feet from the entrance are two, I assume employees, stopping you to tell you they now do ear piercing meanwhile not one front register open, just two useless self check outs. One of which only accepts credit cards.

The pharmacist is literally complaining openly about a customer while the customer is standing to the side. Lots of attitude and very unprofessional. One pharmacist is awesome and incredibly helpful.

I've tried so hard to deal with the pharmacy in this cvs only because the hours are better but not worth it at all!!! I've been hung up on for asking a simple question. I've been given another persons prescription. I'm so tired of everyone being rude and unprofessional so I'm going back to the small local pharmacy. They actually care and listen. CVS is impersonal and could care less about anything other than getting their lunch break. And when I was waiting in line a pharmacy tech was asking about getting a lunch break and the pharmacist was rude to her own coworker!! Go to Lake Mahopac Pharmacy instead. Their hours aren't as long but they care and get know everyone personally.
