⭐️ I wish I could give 0 stars, but I’ll give 1 for the young gentleman who actually tried to help and ease my concerns. After waiting almost an hour with no greeting, no apology, and no acknowledgment, the experience felt completely unprofessional — honestly, the definition of a chop shop.
I reserved online in advance and only recently started using Hertz because my employer partners with them. Every other location, especially airport branches, has been A+. But this location was awful from start to finish.
I booked a standard 7-seater and noticed there was no middle seat, so I asked about where to safely place my infant. Instead of offering a solution or reassurance, the man who checked me in immediately said, “So I’m voiding your ticket?” — completely dismissive and rude. That’s not how you treat customers.
Another young employee was kind enough to suggest I speak with the manager (a woman, he said), but when I asked, the same man claimed he was the manager and repeated the same dismissive response. I get it’s a busy holiday weekend and cars may be limited, but I watched him offer solutions to others while my safety concern was brushed off.
When I dropped the car off, it was more of the same — no greeting, just a flat “You dropping off?” If you don’t like what you do, customers shouldn’t have to feel it too.
The only positive part of this entire experience was the young man who took the time to reassure my husband and me that our rental would be fine. Everyone else could use serious customer service training.

We recently had a rental from this location for the ryder cup. The location is small. The dude that works there is helpful but rude while doing so. He didnt say a word to my spouse or myself it was uncomfortable to say the least. But we did get our car with less than three words. When we returned I had left my headphones in the car. The process is frustrating. Jigs Patel who i learned was the supervisor found them. Though after not hearing from them for a day I called back, every call I was put on hold for at least ten minutes. I called corporate was transferred to which the dude answered. He didnt really know the process and when I inquired for more information he hung up on me. As of thebday of this post Jigs did mail my earbuds back, it's been a week or bit more and im thankful no one lied and kept them. As soon as she explained the process that was given to her, here we are. I would give this a 5 only if I did have to deal with the dude. Jigs knows which one. Hes rude and unprofessional. I have no idea his issue or prejudice, he should be trained again or go. Its a really bad look amd feeling

Huge thanks to Jingn and Angel Rios at the Hertz Lynbrook, NY location for going above and beyond. After returning my rental, I realized I had accidentally left my baby bag in the car — after hours. Angel helped me get in touch with management, and Jingn, the location manager, personally came back after closing to help me retrieve it.
Their professionalism, empathy, and genuine care turned a stressful situation into a reminder of what great customer service looks like. Hertz is lucky to have people like them — I’ll definitely rent from this location again!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. They are thieves!! I booked a rental from this location, upon arrival they made us wait outside until 9AM on the dot before letting us in the office although they were sitting in there doing nothing from 8:30AM. When processing my rental and it came time for payment, the guy who was helping me made me swipe my card several times after they already processed my payment. At this point they already charged me $1,000 which I thought was ridiculous but I really needed this rental. After already swiping my card, he then advised me he’d need my social to run a soft credit check. I have never been asked for my SS number to run a credit check to book a rental before. You just pay an extra amount for a deposit when using a debit card. They waited until after they took my $1,000 to tell me they couldn’t rent the vehicle to me. They should have informed me about this before taking my money and making me pay. They made me take a loss of money unnecessarily. I would NEVER book with these thieving people ever again. Their customer service is dispicable, they shouldn’t be allowed to still be in business. Believe all of the negative reviews written about them!

Extremely long wait. Inventory not available so you just wait until someone else returns a car. No benefit/expediting for President Circle members.
Literally had two hertz reps and 20 people.
Process is extremely slow.

What’s the point of having a phone number when you can’t speak to an employee. I called 15 times for the morning and been put on SILENT hold for 20 mins. So my rental is good until tommorow but you guys are closed and customer service doesn’t know how to answer questions so you better not charge us or the insurance a dime when it’s dropped on Monday. Especially since no one could confirm if we can drop off to another location.

The manager at the Lynbrook Hertz location is extremely helpful and understanding. You can tell they genuinely care about providing good service. This does seem to be a busy location, so I recommend being patient, as the staff works hard to assist multiple customers at once. Overall, I highly recommend anyone looking to rent a vehicle to check out this location.

Terrible customer service. I made a reservation and after waiting for about an hour they told me they didn't have any cars available. When I asked the person he tried to make me feel stupid by telling me that I did the reservation on Google. I called the 1800 number and reported them.
