Found Polly on google and booked a private cooking lesson for my 11 YO Daughter and I. Had such a great experience! She explained so much including safety, cross contamination and of course the fun part how to cook! Would definitely recommend!

Recently had the opportunity to experience a personalized private class at A la Carte. Polly designed an adult beverage class around our requests and specifications. She shared her knowledge and expertise, along with some amazing recipes, while teaching us how to make some of our favorite drinks. So fun and informative! Highly recommend.

This is such a sad story. Our group of more than 12 women had a cooking class booked with this school. Covid interrupted the plan. Polly gave us all credits of $89 per person. When we tried to use the credit she refused, even our requests for a zoom class. Yet she has apparently restarted her business and for reasons that are bewildering refuses to honor the credit. So she has more than $1000 that she has defaulted on.Knowing she has marred her good name in business is upsetting. Be forewarned.

Our 2 grandsons participated in a week long (3 hrs ea) classes. They had a fabulous time and had an exceptional menu. I asked them to describe their experience in one word. Our 10 year old grandson said "Fantastic" and my 7 year old grandson said "Incredible." They asked if we could sign them up for another week.

I brought a large group of my High School German students to "A La Carte" today. What an incredible experience!!! The owner(s) and staff at the school went above and beyond to provide a truly memorable cooking and meal taking experience for our young men and women. This school is extremely well run, all their ingredients are of the highest quality, and the instructions provided are very easily understood by even the most novice of cooks. The students worked at 5 different stations, preparing different courses of the meal. Incredibly, all the dishes were finished at the same time (cooked to perfection!!!) and we all greatly enjoyed an incredibly delicious meal together.I very highly recommend "A La Carte" to anyone who is looking to provide their students (or themselves) with a culturally significant and memorable activity.Thank you and "Danke", A La Carte!

I was lucky enough to take a class with a group of friends and we had an absolute blast. Polly creates such a warm, fun atmosphere you don't even realize how much you've learned until you're back in your own kitchen cooking. I highly recommend the A La Carte experience!

My first class at A La Carte was "Italian Christmas Eve" when the school first opened nearly 20 years ago. I took the class with my sister and we had such a good time, we followed every recipe we learned that night that very Christmas Eve.Over the years I've taken classes on Knife Skills, Baking 101 and several of the themed classes such as Mediterranean Cooking, Date Night, Salsa Night, Farm to Table, Bourbon Pairing. The list of classes is practically endless. Funny how you can get paired up with complete strangers but after following the recipes, cooking & eating together, we part as friends!Perhaps one of my all time favorites was the time my wife gave me a gift certificate for an A La Carte class. Little did I know she had booked a party to surprise me for my 60th Birthday!I'll never forget taking my 4 yr old granddaughter to her first cooking class, she still talks about it!

I’ve been to a few cooking classes in my life at different venues and actually enjoyed each of them and learned new tips and tricks from each....I must say though that when I went to AlaCarte Cooking School in Lynbrook it was truly “a cut above” the rest for sure! The unique and diverse classes and dishes we prepared were not only fun to create but amazingly delicious too! The facility itself is immaculate and well stocked with all the latest “tools of the trade”....we were even taught “knife safety” which I thought was so very important and at times overlooked at other classes....I even went to a couple of “themed nights” there and that even added more enjoyment to an already fun class....Polly and her entire staff makes you feel welcome, comfortable and at ease from the moment you walked in the door to the time class was over....it’s located in the wonderful and trendy Village of Lynbrook so you can make it a “complete night on the town too”...I highly recommend AlaCarte to learn the art of cooking in an informative and fun way!

A special treat for me is the Italian Christmas class(7 fishes etc.)that A la Carte offers. Given the quaintness if the place, I find that class memorable and super appropriate for the season .For that experience alone,5 stars are not enough

A Night on the Mediterranean was our theme and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great menu and a treat to learn proper cooking techniques! Thanks for a great evening. John and I had a fantastic time!

I cannot say enough wonderful about Polly and her wonderful staff Shireen and Marten. The instruction I received took the fear of cooking I had right out of me. This was well worth it and look forward to many more classes. Thank you.

I have been to A La Carte in Lynbrook many times Always a great time. Their staff, especially Owner/Chef Polly, are great teachers, very knowledgeable and fun to be with.
