This is an interesting idea. Rent a wine storage facility and then sell wine out the front door. New York Wine Warehouse is tucked away on a side street in Long Island City and not easily accessible by public transportation. If you drive you can go and find good wine that is properly stored. You may want to call first so that they can pull your wine out of the warehouse and have it ready for you. I found four excellent wines at very reasonable prices recently. !997 Fonseca Port was only $75. 1997 Taylor Fladgate Port was only $85. 2003 Chateau Rieussec Sauternes for $70, and 2005 Chateau Rieussec Sauternes for only $85.
