The store only accepts credit card payments for purchases over $10. Additionally, the cashier did not have pennies available for giving change. If cash payments are expected, change should be available.

Very wonderful little shop with lots of wonderful snacks and groceries from Japan, China, Korea, and more countries from Asia. The best thing is you can enjoy a good selection of drinks from the Progreso Café right by the entrance (inside) while you browse. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll definitely enjoy your visit here.

Great selection and prices.
Also, the plushies are dangerous. I keep buying them.
Two suggestions:
- certain foods could be better placed together to make shopping easier because some dishes always require the same ingredients.
- add a couple of nice cups to the cafe so people can enjoy espresso or coffee in a nice cup in the store. I think the extra effort to clean the cups is worth it because the longer someone stays here, the more likely they are to buy more.
I read some comments that some items are overpriced/expired/moldy. However, like every grocery store, you need to have a keen eye on what is worth it and what is not.
Here are my findings:
- What is cheaper or market price: soba, tofu, oreos, lays
- What is more expensive: fruits and beer
- My overall take: they are likely buying a lot of variety and stocking until sells out. Some items that have long shelf life sit on the shelf for too long and become expired. Fruits are priced higher because they know they have to throw it out. While this may be inconvenient, it gives me more variety and I don’t mind inspecting everything I buy.

Koufuku is a location that has a wide array of snacks & beverages to choose from. Staff are always present to answer questions on the whereabouts of items. Whether beverages that are lychee flavored, Pizza chips, or Lychee Flavored Oreos. The exotic style of snacks & foods here provide a unique opportunity of choices. The 2nd floor which can be reserved for utensils, chop sticks & plushies has a very special selection of items. While the 1st floor is more food oriented.

I had a negative experience shopping here. I purchased two bags of tofu puffs. Upon checkout, literally as soon as I finished my transaction, while preparing to pack my items, I realized that the tofu had fuzzy pink mold on it. I told the cashier that there was mold on the tofu and that I would be right back as I would like to replace the spoiled items with fresh ones. Since the store was not crowded and no other patrons were waiting, I stepped away to get the replacements. Since this literally happened upon having my credit card already charged, the cashier did not give me a receipt as it was understood that I would be right back after getting fresh tofu from the cold case a few steps away. While at the cold case, a young male attendant (who was actually the only friendly and helpful staff member in my experience there), tried to help me find un-moldy tofu, but all the tofu puffs had pink mold.
Upon going back to the register, the cashier who checked me out had left. So the helpful male attendant proceeded to try to give me a refund but had to call the manager as the prior cashier had not printed out a receipt. The manager, an older woman, then proceeded to "lightly" scold me about not having a receipt - and acted as if it was difficult to give me a return and insinuated that I did something wrong, by not having a receipt, and trying to get my money back for the moldy tofu. All of this happened in light of my not even leaving the store or stepping more than 18ft away from the cash register after having realized the tofu had mold.
There were other "subtleties" of disrespect from the manager, and the initial cashier, which made me feel unwelcome in the store. You can read the other reviews for what these "subtitles" might be as I do not want to detract from the objective facts of my experience of poor customer service and being sold moldy, unsafe potentially fatal food. Also others have commented about also seeing/purchasing moldy tofu in the store, so I'd advise purchasing your tofu elsewhere and also shopping elsewhere for better universal customer service.

They follow black and brown people around the store and don’t make you feel welcome at all. They don’t even offer help. All they do is follow you constantly through the aisles and pretend they’re doing something to monitor what you do.. it’s sad and disappointing to shop and be made to feel like a thief when your not. It’s very insulting when you have every intention to pay and be treated so.

Large Asian grocery but my main problem was that I felt this place could've used a cafe. They have a seating area where you can enjoy the fresh sushi or sembei and maybe a canned ice coffee that you picked up on the supermarket side, but their seating area would be the perfect place to get a fresh coffee and matcha croissant, you know what I'm saying? It's a new spot and building a business takes time but it's not well-stocked enough to make it our go to for Asian groceries over the Bayside H-Mart, especially since parking is, well...what parking? Point is they've got a lot of cool snacks and some groceries, but with an H Mart not far from here, I really think their lane is to make use of the huge space they have by creating a unique cafe experience. The coffee has got to be great though!

I purchased soy puffs earlier today and intended to cook them now, but upon opening the package about four hours after buying, I discovered a small crack. Unfortunately, the puffs were covered in mold, and there were no visible expiration dates on the package. It's advisable to be cautious about food safety when shopping there.

I was on my walk to the subway when I spotted this!! I remember the smaller Koufuku before and was so sad when it closed. So happy to see it reopened and is at a bigger location!! It's well stocked with many groceries, beauty products, home goods, and more. They even have imported sakes and beers from Japan! Their sale items were clearly marked and easy to spot. I didn't have time to fully browse since they were closing in 10 minutes, but the staff was kind enough to let me to shop a bit. I picked out a few beauty products that were on sale from the Disney 100 collaborations. Excited to try them and I definitely want to come back here next time I'm in the area! I asked the cashier what the hours are, and he said it's open everyday from 9am to 9pm.
