Orinda has been doing my hair for years. I love her work and she never disappoints. I love changing my hair color and she always manages to get me the color I always want and does not damage my hair. I love how careful she is with coloring. She is the only person I trust with my hair. My hair always feels so healthy after and so shiny. Shes truly the best.

My hairstylist is Orinda she’s been doing my hair for years now and never disappoints. I always walk out with a smile on my face. She always understands my vision and expectations since I’m extremely picky and she has NEVER failed me. She’s has taken my hair from blonde to brunette beautifully. I receive the up most amazing compliments for my hair and it’s all thanks to my hairstylist Orinda at Gigi salon.

I am still growing out the nightmare haircut Kristina gave me. She took my beautiful long hair, berated me and insulted it because I "didn't use Aveda products", ignored my reference photos, and took a MAN'S RAZOR to my head while chatting with another hairdresser. She even tripped over the chair, and claimed repeatedly she "didn't take much off" (like 5 inches are gone and all my volume). The haircut looked like a manic child attacked me with scissors - it is extremely scraggly and uneven and unhealthy looking after walking in with a full thick head of healthy hair (see before and after photos) I literally had a panic attack when she finished. I forced a smile on my face, told her it was great so she would stop talking to me about how amazing her work was, went home and cried for a week. I contacted the Salon and they said they "don't do refunds but will give 10% off my next visit" - there's no way I'm letting them touch my head again - they ignored the reference photos I showed at least 4 times during the haircut. I posted my before and after photos online and got over 1000 responses of how terrible the cut was on Facebook. Don't go to this salon unless you want your beautiful hair butchered with an hour of gaslighting and insults for $100. It's been a month and I still hate this ragged awful cut. The LEAST they could do is refund me for the humiliation I feel every time I look in the mirror. Awful.

I was talking with a stranger about needing a new hairdresser and they suggested me to go to Elda at GiGi. I came in for a haircut, and decided to do a single process color as well. I'm so happy with the results, and usually I cry about bad haircuts so I was really relieved to have a cut that i love by Elda. It's been two weeks my hair is growing out beautifully! They matched the color with my skin tone so it looks natural, my boyfriend loves it. Everything was just how I wanted, such a relief to find this place -and worth the travel from manhattan. Really satisfied with the Aveda products I brought home too, every shower is like a little spa experience. Thank you !
Hair type: I have short, thick hair that needs a particular type of cut so that it doesn't just sit heavy on top.
Stylist: Elda was my stylist and she did a perfect job!

I booked my first appointment over the phone and the personnel was very kind. On my appointment I was kindly greeted. My hair color is Titian red. I only wanted to dye my roots and I was hoping the color would match my hair color. When the colorist saw me she told me that I had three different colors -which is not exactly true - but we agreed to only do my roots. When I was done, I didn't like the color and I told her that it was too dark and brown with no traces of red. She replied that eventually it will lighten it up. I insisted that it was too dark and her response left me speechless: " next time bring me a picture of the color you want". I will not return to that hair salon. The colorist was not professional at all.

It was my first time going here for highlights- Enid did a quick consult and helped me decide on doing balayage instead to get the look I was going for. I really appreciated all her consideration. She did an absolutely fantastic job and got my hair almost identical to the inspiration picture!

Don’t do it! After years recovering from a bad haircut, I decided to come to Aveda based on the good reviews. I came in with thick medium length hair and left with short choppy thin hair. I was so excited coming in and left to sad and disappointed. I asked the hairdresser to even out my hair, and she ended up making it very thin and choppy as you can see in the pictures. I couldn’t even put it up in a ponytail. I came in on 4/29/23 spent $100 on the worse haircut ever. A whole year later my hair is still not even and still very thin. Lesson learned don’t go based off the good reviews, really do your research when trying out a new place. Reading other bad reviews on this salon, I noticed others were also left with thin choppy hair.

TLDR: messed up my hair, the salon couldn’t fix it, and they won’t give me my money back
I went to Edita because my friend recommended her. I have pin straight thick fine hair and I asked for slight curtain bangs and face framing. What I got instead was a butchered shag haircut.
Shags don’t work on straight hair because of the lack of texture and a seasoned hairstylist should know this.
On top of that, it is not what I asked for. When I went in to get my money back, they offered to correct it but when I sat down, the new stylist agreed that she botched my hair and the only option is for me to grow it out. She said there was nothing she could do to fix it and specifically pointed out the areas where the stylist cut too short. The stylist spoke to Valerie, the manager and the manager said she would contact management so I can get a refund.
I spoke to their manager Valerie multiple times and she said she would speak to management. Even though I have checked in with them multiple times in person and over the phone and they keep telling me the same thing that “management has not responded”.
Their policies say they can offer a redo and they don’t do refunds but it’s entirely unfair that one of their stylists can butcher a clients haircut, there’s no way to fix it and I still don’t get my money back.
I would literally never recommend this place to another person and I am so disappointed and upset with my experience.

I love this salon and have been coming for years. Was sad to learn Gigi retired but was very impressed by who they paired me with. She brought my hair back to my natural hair color from 5 years of blonde. I also received one of the best haircuts of my life. Gigi and his staff are truly talented.
