Extremely disappointing customer service from this establishment. Had booked my child for full day but due to air quality scenario of wildfire week in NYC , I did not want him out and about all day like gantry kids had planned. Company refuses to offer credit or refund basically took our money with no apologies. Don’t support this business with this type of attitude in the community. With respect to the business policies, it states very specifically that Gantry follows the NYC DOE Calendar, in interest of safety all programs are cancelled when the DOE closes schools due to unsafe conditions. Last Friday NYC DOE closed schools and moved to remote learning because of the air quality. The owner can sit on their high horse and claim small business and staying in business, but don't tell me about your policies. We did not ask for only a refund, but a credit, which you refused. We would have been happy to support you if you had compassion to an atypical situation. If a child was an asthmatic would you have asked them to put on a mask and go out with your group? You inflexibility is where customer service lacks, as well as your disregard for your own policies. In addition NYC Health + Hospitals also issued an air quality advisory to limit outdoor activity on the date in question.

Went there for a couple of months as it was close to home. The program was fair but it felt short on cardio, and I felt I needed to add a 30 min run on top of the workout to stay in form. A couple of the coaches were out of shape. So if you're looking to get lean and in form, as opposed to build strength and learn some skills, it's probably not enough. Most of the coaches were good and accommodating, but there was one in particular who was inappropriate and unprofessional, seemed to have problems with authority and boundary setting which made things quite uncomfortable for some.May have been worth it if you could avoid the bad apples, but it's difficult as their schedule doesn't update correctly.Overall, not worth the hassle.

We started going to Gantry Kids last year for day camps when school was out. Our daughter loved the camps so much that she asked us to sign her up for the after-school program for the 2022-23 school year. I have seen such a positive change in my daughter's confidence. My daughter can be shy and hesitate to try new things, but when I pick her up, I see an entirely different child. I love the safe environment Gantry Kids has created for children to take chances. My daughter loves the after-school program so much Gantry Kids was the only place she wanted to have her birthday party. I was blown away by how organized the party was and how engaged Deena was able to keep 17-second graders.

As one of the members that is older in age, I wanted to share my story a bit. My kids literally grew up at this gym in the kid's classes then the teen classes and now they take regular adult classes and one of them is a CrossFit coach. You would've thought I would have joined long ago, but I didn't. Every time I walked in and saw the workouts I was completely intimidated. Fast forward to the pandemic, my husband and I decided it was time to take care of ourselves and we started workouts in the park with one of the coaches, then moved to private lessons until the coach moved away and we started the regular classes. The idea of taking a regular class was a bit scary for me but I went with it and have never looked backThe gym: is a large space, equipment is always organized and properly put away. They have always taken pride in keeping the gym looking good and clean, there is cleaning supplies to wipe down your equipment. The staff is amazing they are all patient, knowledgeable, and always, supportive. The workouts are different every day, so they wake up muscles you never knew you had. The coaches walk around during the work out to make sure everyone is doing the movements correctly, to avoid injury. The coaches are your biggest cheerleaders and motivators. The gym community is well, just amazing, everyone pushes each other, we cheer each other on and help each other when needed. The comradery at this gym is shown daily. There are also get togethers, which are fun because you can catch up with fellow members but meet people that go at different times/days.And yes, it looks intimidating and it's hard. But it's also so rewarding and I have never felt this good before. There are scaling options for every exercise, trust me I know, I have tried every scaling option there is..LOLSince starting the regular classes, we have made it a family affair, my husband, my two boys, my sister-in-law and I all are taking classes. So, stop by, take a class, or just sit and watch a class. But most importantly join this great community.

We have gone to Gantry Kids and Teens for day camps when school is out, summer camp, and birthday parties. We LOVE the mission, drive, and approach at Gantry Kids! Both my kids have thrived after their camps — knowing that they can do hard things and being so proud of themselves! I love how much the kids are outside, playing, and helping each other, and appreciate the mix of age groups! We just had our son's birthday party there and it was awesome. Coach-led obstacle courses and games, a helpful and responsive team, and a lot of fun :)

My daughter loves Gantry Kids. She's spent a few weeks with them for Summer Camps each year and always asks to go back. We love that they get the kids outdoors and active all day visiting local parks (and some further away) as well as provide a real focus on fitness and an introduction to a gym. They also partner with other local community businesses and organizations and the kids really get a sense of helping your local community. The kids get to make their own sandwich or smoothie at Little Chef Little Cafe or help out with planting at Connected Chef (my daughter took me back there to proudly show me what she had planted). She also loves Kids Night Out, as do we as we get a night out!Michelle and the coaches are great with the kids. They clearly care about them and look after them but also give them the space and independence to work things out for themselves.

This was by far the best day camp my son did this summer. It's well run, organized but still relaxed and fun, and includes lots of outside time and physical activity. My son really enjoyed it and I was thrilled with how much biking and fun activities he did every day. I also loved that they did some community service work as well. Worth the (high) price tag.

It’s hard to believe that a year ago, I had never actually met Michele and her amazing team. At the beginning of Covid, when my daughter’s school was going to have three cohorts, I freaked out. I couldn’t face another Spring 2020. I ended up signing my daughter up for the entire school year for remote school supervision. It was the single best decision I made last year (beating out bulk toilet paper and mask purchases). My daughter thrived last year. She had safe interactions socially. She kept active … and, to my shock (and delight), she made great strides academically. This summer, we’ve returned for day camp (kid comes home exhausted and happy), and we’ll be enrolling her for after school this fall. On a scale of five stars, I’d like to give six

My son loves it. He has made good friends and learned to cook simple meals on Wednesday's cooking class. He said it was great fun! I love the camp arrangement when he could go out and run. He needs a lot more exercises especially with remote learning schedule.

I don't understand how this place is even in business, much less has 5 stars. When I read the promotional material, I thought this was a kids club and Cross Fit gym. Slightly strange concept, but I thought it was similar to the YMCA with a kids section and an adults section. Nope. This is an adults Cross Fit gym (think heavy weights, dangerous equipment) with ZERO modifications for kids. In addition to the safety concerns, I didn't even see toys or even a single piece of artwork for kids. It's a cross fit gym that also somehow is now a day care center?? What?I took my kid to the Saturday Kids night out and within 5 minute of arriving, I see two kids climb a stack of wooden crates about 10 feet high and swing off on a rope swing. No adult supervision whatsoever. I'm not a helicopter parent but every bone in my body told me not to leave him there. But I did.About two hours later I get a text that my kid was acting up. I honestly was relieved because I was having misgivings about the whole thing. I show up and although I didn't take a head count, I would say there were 20-30 very young kids sitting around a big TV with two very young looking counselors sitting behind a huge desk away from the kids. There's a huge garage style door that opens right to the street. I was horrified. Any of the kids could have run out at anytime and I walked in right off the street, so anyone had access to them. Most gyms don't even allow people under 18 access, so it's really strange to me somehow this gym is running a random day care center. I asked my son why he had acted out and he said "there were no toys and no one played with me." It was all so bizarre. I had planned to send my son to after school there and the owner gave me a refund without to much trouble (but with a $50 "administrative fee" deducted), so I guess that was good but I don't get the concept of this place at all.

A great class for kids that teaches proper movement fundamentals and exercises in way that is fun and enjoyable to the kids. Highly recommended for instilling healthy behaviors in kids.

Returning to crossfit after a couple of significant injuries I wanted to make sure I was in a gym that took peoples individual needs as seriously as they did building community. I think I've found both at Gantry. The coaches are so encouraging and really do get the best out of you BUT they also listen, are so knowledgable and ready with really great scaling options so I still feel like I'm getting the best work out. It's unusual to find a crossfit gym that spends so much time on warming up and then on movement (usually that's like another class you have to do) but Jay and his team of coaches take form and movement really seriously. Sound boring? It's not. I've had two really painful injuries and it feels really good to be around people that know crossfit and lifting, appropriate and effective scaling and are fun and encouraging.

My 5 year old son went to a camp at Gantry Kids and loved it. Great open communication with the staff. Lots of opportunity to explore and be a kid!
