As the expression goes, fool me once, shame on you, fool me ten times, well, it's time for an honest and harsh review. If you have a BMW or Mercedes that needs repair or service, David and his team will treat your car well. Unfortunately, they don't have the same knowledge of Audi, so again, fooling me once is par for the course. And if you want to be treated as a customer as well as your car is treated, this is NOT the place for you. You will be lied to directly to your face. My most recent visit to this place, the week of this writing, will be my last (after many, many years of being a loyal and understanding customer, despite the likely thousands of dollars I have overpaid over the years. I felt David was a good man, and so I wanted to be loyal. That is my fault entirely). This time around I had taken my Audi Cabriolet in for front end noise about a month ago. They diagnosed it as upper control arms needing replacement. They replaced them. The issue was not resolved as the noise came back while I was driving home that evening. I called the next morning to tell them I would need to bring it back. They said sure, bring it back and we will test drive it. But I was not able to do so for about a month due to work and other obligations. I brough it back this week, test drove it with Rickie, and he heard the noise immediately. Fast forward, three days later, they needed to replace additional control arms. But at no point did they own up to the fact that they missed this the first time I brought it in. They would not give me a break on this "additional labor". They would not admit to not correcting the problem the first time. If they had truly understood this car, they would have fixed it right the first time I brought it in. And it is very likely I have been driving with broken components for many years, as each time I bring it in, they seem to find something new that should have been found the previous time. Case in point, I had asked David many times, why is there still a grinding noise when I turn the steering wheel? He said it was normal for the car, and also said the water pump is making that noise, but it's safe and normal. Today, after the repair, the grinding noise is miraculously gone. But the clincher tonight was realizing that Richie, the service manager, had "test driven" my car for 22 miles during this repair!! 22 miles in Long Island City. Richie has done this on two other occasions, where I have found an unusually high number of miles added to the car after a service. One time, David covered for him and said he had a family emergency up north. There were bridge tolls added to my account because of this drive (roughly 25 miles). He lied to my face to protect his manager, for whatever reasons. Tonight I asked him again.... Why do you need to drive my car for 22 miles around Long Island City to test drive a repair? He said he had to test drive it 4 different times to check the problem. He said he test drove it for over an hour because he was in traffic. This is the type of person that David chooses to employ and represent his company. Someone who enjoys taking other people's cars for joyrides under the guise of a "road test". This is a long and heartfelt post because I, again, foolishly, continued to put my trust in this business. And mark my words, they will not treat you as well as they seem to treat their BMW's. They don't value honesty and integrity. I don't have any other agenda in saying this. I am taking my car and business elsewhere. They certainly don't need my business. Never have. All I have ever expected from this place was to be level and upfront with me, and they are not able to do that. They don't know the car, and everything seems to be an experiment. I would have preferred years ago if they said, we don't know Audis as well, but we will give it a try. I would have made an informed decision at that time. So, if you value integrity and honesty, I urge you to consider taking your business elsewhere. You deserve better.

would like to give another update, about a week ago the engine light came back on. going to take my car to another mechanic and find out how badly i was dooped. will keep y'all posted.

I regretted to have BKM to do a transmission swap on my BMW E46. I do not have any issues with the mechanical work that they did, but I do have a major problem with the owner, Dave. He is unprofessional and behaves like a mobster. Please watch out for the "bait and switch" tatic that he Implored. Dave truly believes his shop is the best shop in the country in that if he can do it, no one can. He also repeated to me over and over again that his wife and daughter are doctors and he does not cheat. What is that got to do with the price of tea in China? I shopped around and found that BKM gave me the best price for the job, at least that was what I thought initially. I dropped off the car on 2/11/22 to have BKM to do the work. I picked up the car a week later on 2/18 and was told to bring back for coding the car computer. In the meanwhile, they put a phony NYS inspection sticker on my car so I could drive around. While I was waiting for him to call me to bring the car back, I received 2 tickets from the police for a phony NYS inspection sticker. After calling them a few times, finally on 3/15/22, a month later, they picked up my car to work on the coding. Even though we agreed on a price to do the tranny swap which included all mechanical work and coding the program to conform with a manual transmission, he reneged on the price. He told me I had to pay him extra money for coding the car computer. I told him that was not what we had agreed on and I also told him not to bother with it if I had to pay more money. I asked him when I could pick up my car and he told he would see. Disregard what I said, Dave told me he had to take the car 80 miles away to get it done. Five days later, he told me the car was ready for pick up. He could not do it so he had to take my car to a BMW dealership in Connecticut (put 200 miles on my car) to get the coding done. That did not make sense at all! He also told me I had to pay him over $600 cash before I could pick up my car. That was insane and totally unacceptable since he did not get my permission to do it. I had someone in NJ to code the car for $150. On 3/19/22, I went back to BKM to pick up my car. I told him I did not have $600 cash to pay him. Since he held my car hostage, under the circumstances, I was willing to put $600 on my credit card so I could move on with my life. Of course, he did not like what I said. He was upset because I told him I wanted to "move on with my life" and he took it I would not go back to him in the future. This guy is crazy. He started screaming at me and told me I could not get my car. He forced me to go with one of his friends to the bank to get cash. I told him even I could get money from an ATM machine, I could only get $500 per day. He said he would take $500 cash but no credit card. Since I could not get cash from the ATM, his friend calmed him down and convinced him to let me put $653.25 on my credit card so I could get my car. BTW, he does not guarantee the work he did on my car. I made a mistake and I want to share my experience with you so hopefully, you won't make the same mistakes that I did. Although I cold have stopped the credit card payment and dispute the charge, I don't want to stoop so low like Dave. As I said, I just wanted to move on with my life. To be fair, BKM's staff, Rich, Jackie and Riadh, are professional and nice to deal with. What a shame! Good luck with your decision.

Bkm ripped me off claiming my car had extensive oil leaks which they didn't even repair after charging me $3k. Richie is a old conniving man who will have his karma catch up to him. Take your car to MINHS AUTOMOTIVE instead they fixed my car they way it should of been done the first time.

We are so impressed and grateful for the knowledgeable and reliable team at BKM automotive. David, the owner and head mechanic is an absolute master of his craft. His entire team is outstanding talented and trustworthy. We have been bringing our beloved BMW to his shop for years and wouldn't dream of taking it anywhere else. The prices are always fair and reasonable. This is by far the best shop in the city, with an unrivaled team that is both welcoming and professional. Ritchie and Jackie are Complete phonies who coo over you when you bring them business and then stab you in the back by overcharging you and ultimately revealing their true selves --nasty, rude, and uncaring. The worst marketing strategy ever!!!!Watch out-- Ritchie holds himself out as Owner. He is not even close. With the gazillion auto repair shops in NYC, I'm leaving this place in the dust and never looking back. Sorry To owner, David Hall, who knows how to be respectful and appreciative of his clients.

The team at BKM Auto are masters at their craft. Their work is impeccable. To add to this, their customer service and pricing is unrivaled by any other garage I have been to. My Audi was pretty damaged (dents, deep scrapes, etc) while it was parked on a side street in NYC. In less than a week, they completely repaired my car (other garages had told me it would take 2-4 weeks) and the car looks like it did the day I bought it. Really amazing team!

Pretty satisfied with this shop. They did my timing belt, water pump, spark plugs and serpentine belt. The owner is super involved in the customer service aspect. He went through the bill with me and explained everything. He suggested i needed a few other items and would send me a quote. On a downside his mechanic suggested i replace the air filter. I explained to the owner i just changed it a week ago and that means mechanic was taking me for a ride, i felt very uneasy bc of this however Gary was understanding and gave me credit. They did a great job and even washed the car. Its a very busy shop but i like the fact that Gary took the time with me. I definitely recommend this place, just be wary of the shortcoming on this my experience with the air filter as i never trust a shop %100

I have nothing but gratitude for Jeff and John who came to my rescue this past weekend when all of a sudden I developed car trouble while in Astoria. A notification popped up on my 2019 BMW 430i gran coupe stating my "coolant needed to be topped off as soon as possible." However, a few minutes later another notification appeared stating "engine temperature HIGH," prompting me to have to turn off my car briefly to cool it down. I called the nearest certified BMW service center, which was BKM Automotive. Even though they were planning to leave early since it was a Saturday, they told me to come in anyway. They were so accommodating and friendly. Without even having to wait for a few minutes, they stopped what they were doing and popped my hood to see what the issue was. They poured the coolant but unfortunately there seemed to be a leak that could not be fixed that same day. My car is leased and under warranty still so I ended up towing it to the dealer. However, they gave me great advice regarding how to drive my car safely back to my place which is where I decided to have my car towed. If I didn't have the warranty though, I would have trusted them to perform the diagnostics and fix my car. I would definitely recommend BKM Automotive for anyone looking for quality service in the Astoria!

Thank you David for great service and a friendly and understanding staff. I was informed of what work needed to be done on my Mercedes Benz and I was able to pick up same day looking better then when I dropped it off. This team knows their cars. I'm a grateful customer ...
