I had an appointment at CVS, Park Ave, Long Beach, NY for the Prevnar 20 (Pneumonia) vaccine. I checked in and mentioned severe allergic reaction to Shingrix vaccine several years ago and increasing allergic reactions to food (walnuts, dried fruit/raisins, some shellfish but not all). The Pharmacist, Dr Sini, was very caring and cautious. Brought me to private area for vaccination, then sat me within her view for 15 minutes observation and gave me a bottle of water to stay hydrated. She advised me to ice the injection site and to call if I had any negative reaction. I felt very well cared for and happy to update my vaccinations. Thank you CVS.

We must say that in most part, CVS website is logical and clear to understand - however - we have two important issues:
#1 problem is related to CVS website.
#2 is general problem with CVS.
1a). CVS website is as inaccurate as can be: informing me of available medication refills that I already picked up SEVERAL DAYS AGO. And this goes on for years.
1b). CVS website doesn't provide us with an option to deactivate/delete/unsubscribe medications that we are no longer using. We must go to the store and ask them to deactivate.
2). When we receive medications, CVS staff attaches/glues a label/sticker with information about us and the medication, which is fine.
But the problem is that CVS is using glue that does not let us remove CVS label with our information, before recycling the bottles/containers. It takes us a lot of time to remove our information from the bottles.
CVS should learn from other companies that let the customers remove their sensitive information very easily.
These issues go for years. We called the specific store several times and CVS general service center – with zero results.
We decided that if CVS will not drastically improve on those two problems, we will go to another pharmacy nearby, like Walgreen. We just had enough of it.

I have shopped at CVS since it started many years ago. I find it always a pleasant place to shop and have found their prices to be fair. Their pharmacy is very careful and pays attention to all your needs and information.

Unsure how trained "pharmacists" could be this dumb but they prove me wrong. Had medicine delivered clearly states in big bold letters DO NOT REFRIGERATE what do they do put it in the refrigerator over night. Destroyed the medicine had to wait a week for them to get it again and it's still pending. Sad this place is still open.

I had another unpleasant experience at this pharmacy. Last month, I tried to transfer a prescription from another pharmacy, but the pharmacist, Xzavia, claimed it was against state law, despite it being a non-controlled prescription with refills available. Today, I brought my handicapped mother in a wheelchair for a pneumonia vaccine, as the website indicated availability at the Long Beach location. Despite the lack of customers and signs welcoming walk-ins for vaccines, the pharmacy technician refused to check for the vaccine's availability, simply stating they didn't have it. Very disappointing lack of accommodation from the pharmacy staff and pharmacist.

There are several reasons to not shop at CVS, but ineptitude is the top reason why you should not use this pharmacy. I asked my boyfriend to go get me a decongestant and they sold him sudafed PE, which is well established to not be effective. I would not buy any medication from a pharmacy where it’s staff are willing to sell snake oil and state that it is the same.

The store which had multiple signs saying walk ins welcome for a flu shot said they do not do walkins after I waited on-line for 10 minutes. Terrible CVS

Over 40 minutes to answer the phone in the pharmacy. This was after a previous call and 10 minute wait that resulted in line disconnect. Pharmacy is not senior friendly. They do not delivery unless you have an online account and credit card on file. If you are a senior without the CVS app you can't set up delivery. The store will not do it for you over the phone. Use a local non corporate pharmacy instead if you can. Person who eventually spoke to me was put out by having to answer an inquiry.

I recently had a major surgery and the pharmacy is supposed to open at 10 am. The ER sent them the scripts over twelve hours ago. The pharmacist was stuck in traffic and they do not have a backup pharmacist to fill scripts. My boyfriend had to wait in store 45 minutes after opening and the pharmacist was still there. I am in pain and am waiting on pain killers but what about people with more severe medications than a pain reliever. I don’t understand how backups aren’t put into place for something so necessary. The pharmacist is still not there.

This is a very busy pharmacy and the staff works hard to take care of its patients. I don't get a lot of warmth and chitchat from the staff but they are always courteous and attentive and I do get what I need, which is my scrips filled on time and with proper advice.
