I completely agree with the reviews of this branch, especially concerning the manager's behavior. Her attitude is intimidating and humiliating towards customers.

I want to warn people about Chase Bank manager Shandel Bawling at the Long Beach branch. As a loyal Chase customer for 30 years, I have never experienced such a horrible attitude toward clients. She is very rude, lazy, unprofessional, and unwilling to perform her job duties. The treatment she gives to clients is inappropriate for a manager. A bank manager holds a very responsible position that requires interpersonal skills and a willingness to resolve problems, but she does not fit this role and should be replaced immediately.
Her behavior was provocative and disrespectful. She repeatedly told me that she had to go for lunch at 2:15 pm and insisted I had to wait. This provocative and disrespectful tone caused my blood pressure to rise, requiring urgent medical care. There must be accountability, and she should be terminated if fairness exists in this country.

If I could give the customer service at this bank a zero I would. A week and a half ago I went into the bank to order Euros and specified that I required small denominations. When the Euros arrived, they were mixed which included most100 and 50 Euros. WhenI brought this to the attention of the teller, they called. one of the bank reps, who said that they could return and reorder at the current exchange. I told them that this was not acceptable since they made the error, and they told me I could get exchange the euros at the airport. I went to the bank because of the convenience and not able to take time to walk around the airport to exchange the euros for smaller denominations. The bank rep then told me that the bank they use to order the euros probably did not have smaller denominations and if they reordered it would more likely be given in the same denominations I received. This is nonsense. I told them I could exchange the money easier at the hotel that I would be staying at, took my euros and left. this is not my usual branch, but I have ordered euros previously from them and did not have an issue. Rest assured that with the incompetence with their staff, I will not use this branch again. Customer service at this branch is below par. They do not go that extra mile to keep their customers.

I’ve decided to five star this Chase location because of one dedicated employee who i had the pleasure of meeting by chance more than circumstance….Angela Cottone. A brief background will illuminate how she resolved an issue that quickly went off the rails and was getting very frustrating. I recently moved to Florida and once a month transfer funds between my Chase account to my Citi account in “real time”, meaning instantly. On Tuesday February 7th I proceeded to make said transfer but was rejected by Chase not once but 4 times over a 2 hour period. After multiple calls to Chase and Citi I was told there must be a glitch in the system. In truth Citi informed me of a “systemic “ problem with transfers with several banks. “Be patient”, wait a few hours and try one last time Chase said.Voila!…it went through,or so I thought. I checked my Citi account,no funds arrived so I waited until the next day….still no funds. Citi said nothing pending Chase said my funds were surely debited and transferred to Citi. For most of Wednesday and Thursday I spoke to countless Chase reps to no avail. Beyond frustrating. I drove up to NY for medical issues and on Friday February 10 I walked into the aforementioned Chase bank and I met Angela. She listened to my story and took on my fight. Everything she attempted had the same results. Saturday we met again to “strategize “ and decided to wait until Wednesday February 15th. She saw me coming through the door that day very annoyed and immediately went into attack mode(my words) because the funds were still nowhere. The powers that be relented and issued a “provisional credit “….24-48hour window….guaranteed. Shockingly on Thursday the original transfer made on the 7th made it into my Citi account 9 days late!!!Without Angela I would have closed the account and taken Chase to small claims court. The whole scenario was ridiculous but Angela was my guardian angel….thank you. Steve

My fiancée and I went in to set up a joint bank account. We were informed that a gentleman was about to come in and didn't have any appointments so we would be seated with him shortly. Another man came in after us and also sat in the waiting area. When the worker came over, he asked what all of us were there for and then walked away. I watched the worker who had originally assigned us to the male gentleman pull him aside and speak with him as they kept looking over at me and my fiancée. They then sent someone else entirely to come tell us that now no one would be available to speak to us for over two hours. This behavior was absolutely appalling. I walked my fiancée out of there and we will be choosing a different bank altogether as well as closing the accounts we currently have through Chase. As we walked out, I watched the worker who was supposed to help us walk up to the man that came after us and pull him to his cubicle. I don't know if its because we were only opening a joint account and he wanted to do work on business accounts or if it was because my fiancée and I are both women. Either way, our business shouldn't be treated like it's less important. Do better because this behavior is unacceptable.

Very disappointed in the service given to their customers. Living in Long Beach I needed something notarized in a emergency. I looked to see who in town was a notary. I found one at the UPS store. My luck their notary was not in. They said go to Chase next door. I said ok great. Being a chase customer I was relieved. I walk in bank and was greeted by a young man with a clip board. I was told that the only appointment was at 3:30 PM. That was 2 1/2 hours away. I explained that I had to have this done asap. I also explained that I am a chase customer with five lines of credit. Didn’t matter to this young man. I have just lost all faith in Chase Bank. It was a one page document and the notary was 20 feet away. The notary had a customer at her desk. I was not looking for it to get doneWhile she had a customer. I explained that I was a customer it didn’t mean anything to this young man. The only person with compassion was the lady from the island Park branch. She asked me who I didn’t banking with at this branch. Why would you ask that??? Oh I see if I knew someone I could get it done. That’s horrible customer service. Rest assured my 5 lines of credit with chase will be cancelled by the end of the day. Why would I give business to a bank that can’t even help a customer?? Upon cancelling my accounts I will def make sure everyone at Chase knows. This would have taken 3 minutes. Maybe Chase branch in Long Beach should do some refresher training..Jim Staubitser

Excellent through and through. Most branches I reach out by phone have trouble answering their phones. This one always picks up the phone on first call. Furthermore, I worked with a representative named Ryan K. He was seriously awesome. Friendly and professional, Ryan helped make my experience at this branch go as smoothly as possible. Also went above and beyond by helping me sort out an issue with my account that my typical branch (Mineola location) completely dropped the ball on. Can't thank him enough

The service inside the branch is great but why are the ATMs always broken? Impossible to make deposits after hours. It’s been 4+ months. I don’t want to drive out of town to make deposits at night!

I arrived at this location at 4:34pm today to open an account -3/5/21Gentleman in front entrance asked if I’d rather come back tomorrow as they were closing at 5pm.I said, I needed an account before end of day and asked what is the minimum to be held in an account for future notice to self.He asked if had $100. I said, a few grand. He then proceeded with it being almost end of day, that I could make an appointment to be seen any other day etc.I was disappointed. I thanked him anyway and went elsewhere nearby; where in a matter of seconds I was seen, taken care of and out by 5:03pm.

Tried to set up a Chase teen banking account for my niece, and was told her parents, my niece, and I had to be at the branch for a 45 minute process to establish an account. Given the schedules of working parents and a teen, I asked if I could fill out any paperwork ahead of time, or if the teen and parents could be there at the end of the 45 minute period. Kathy (the Chase rep) informed me there is no paperwork, it's just data entry for "the ENTIRE 45 minutes" and all parties had to be present for the full amount of time. After researching options, I instead opted for a Capital One Teen account, which was 100% online, required NO TRIP to the branch. I successfully set up an online custodial checking account for me niece in under 10 minutes. Hoping Chase as my preferred bank finds a way to improve their process; their teen account and branch service was relatively disappointing this time around.
